I get bored easily too, which is why I'm STILL collecting. The alternative version of the Joe Tex is good / better also, but I think you and I have been down this road before.

Hi Davie, I haven't heard it played anywhere I go for donkies. Also, I think you are more a DJ than a collector and tend to turn over your DJing box as regularly as you can afford. Is that correct? Besides, it's always easier to get tired of a record when you've already got it and you also use it in your playlists. Those that ain't got it, want it, especially the collectors amongst us.

I think you've got to think about that kind of price to get a copy of this record in this very competitive collecting scene of ours. Somebody told me the other day, these 45s are getting scarcer and the asking prices are going up accordingly. So, do I think that this 45 in particular is worth £200? Then yes I do. In fact I think it's worth a lot more!!!

Hi Richard, Yes, it is. And yes, you're dead right, it's a brilliant instrumental dancer just perfect for the Mod / R&B scene. And yes again, it IS very rare. Deceptively so. People see Stax and think easy to get but this one ain't. Thanks for your comments. Denbo.

  14. Good stuff. Let me know what transpires.
  15. Aaaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!
  16. Does the book spell the artist as Patton or Patten?
  17. Should that be Patton? Or Patten? Patten is the correct spelling, yes? That quote from Manship's book could mean that both are originals, just that the one with title on one line has a daisy stamp, whilst the one with the title on two lines has an AIM stamp. What does the AIM mean?
  18. Hang on, correct me if I'm wrong. The original as the title on one line with Patten not Patton c/w a daisy in the runout groove? A boot would therefore have the title on two lines with Patton not Patten without a daisy in the runout groove? What if I've got one with the title on two lines and Patten not Patton without a daisy in the runout groove? Or, better still, one with the title on two lines and Patten not Pattan c/w a daisy in the runout groove?
  19. Can somebody throw up a scan of the boot with Patton? Still don't believe the proposition that the title should be on one line for it to be an original. Can somebody sustantiate this with proof / evidence?
  20. Patten being the original and Patton being the boot? Correct? Can somebody throw up a scan of the boot with Patton? Still don't believe the proposition that the title should be on one line for it to be an original. Can somebody sustantiate this with proof / evidence?
  21. the song title should be in one line You sure about this as I've had my import for more than 30 years and the title is on two lines. Not sure about the daisy though, I'll check when I get home.
  22. Is there? How can you tell? What tell-tale signs are there?
  23. Dunno? If we were going to put prices on these, how much for; UK copy US copy Canadian copy All in say VG++ condition
  24. If I was going to sell one of my Alexander Pattens, which would fetch the most money, my UK copy or my US copy? Both are issues and both about the same condition, which is strong VG++
