Have to agree sticky dancefloors are about as welcome as a fart in a wetsuit, they drive me to distraction, as well as making my old legs ache. However did you know some people like it like that, in fact I was at a venue in York a couple of years ago & the floor had been specially polished for dancing & was excellent, when up pop's Kate from Hull, who likes it tacky, with a bloody big American style prison mop & proceeds to start washing the floor!!!! This went down like a one legged man at an arse kicking contest, as you can well imagine!!!!! We still love you though Kate, you silly sod, Spot. p.s. No offence was mean't or should be taken from the reference to "One Legged Men".

Sorry Simon but it's not as good as the original or as good as her "Mother of shame", remember that? We have been introduced, we first spoke at Blackpool last year when you were dancing a hole in the carpet & we see you at Earl & Drax also. The lady (?) on the stairs could have been my wife Gail but then again maybe not,who knows?She has just started posting but rarely gets chance as I'm always on the bloody machine & she tends to use my name on here, why? who knows but one day when some big Gorilla comes over & lays me out for no apparent reason it'll be because she's used my name in vein. Can't speak for any other kids on the scene but I know Pete-Jonah's Lad really well. He's a great lad, does not wear baggies or any of that clobber. He's a credit to his father and mother who have been on this scene for over 30 years. He never said he wanted to be 'a saviour of this scene' all he said was he should be supported in the fact that he wants to attend venues (and nighters when he's old enough) and enjoy the music. He has a real love of all soul music and hasn't been influenced by the all the politics of oldies, newies 60t's, modern xover etc., he just loves the whole lot of it. Lets face it, if most of us had had computers, SS, in the olden days lol we would have been just as vocal (only had John Bull Printing Sets then I think ). My wife was gobbing off in Blues & Soul in 1974 and she was only 16 and nobody thought anything of it, but there again everyone else was probably not much older. Is it reverse ageism or jealousy of youth. We all know it wont be a handful of teenagers who will carry this scene on even though it was probably a handful that started it . It could well be imo a load of grumpy old soulies that finish it if we dont nurture such young gems as Pete. Spot

Yes Mike as a matter of fact my mate Smiggy had one & sold it on the other day, first one I've ever seen, can't remember who he sold it to but I saw it again (same 1) in a box at Skeggy at the weekend. Spot.
