  3. Not sure but this may help and here's Barry White again "Takin' Care of Business" Sarah James & The Soul Babies This song was co-produced by Eddie Davis and Wayne Edwards and written by Chick Carlton and Delbert Franklin for R&B Soul singer, Sarah James. Sarah would often perform solo at the piano bar as well as with her trio at the Eddie Davis Night Club in Hollywood, California to standing room crowds. Her powerful voice and great personality made her a favorite in the Night Club Circuit. This recording also features Barry White playing the congas. As Delbert Franklin recalls, "Barry was always trying to make himself useful in the recording studio". The background singers (Soul Babies) also included members of The Sa-Shays. Released in 1967 on Faro Records, it wasn't long before local AM radio stations like KGFJ were playing the song in steady rotation. http://wwwyoufoundthateastsidesoundcom.blogspot.com/2011/05/
  4. I never knew about him what a star !!!!
  5. I never seek credit (it's a mugs game) all that matters is the history (but people do work hard sometimes). Last night on BBC Professor Brian Cox was asked why he always smiled and he said !!! "It's because it's funny. It brings us all down a peg or two, I want to build a statue of myself a permanent celebration of my achievements . There will be no so such monument of your achievements, don't worry about the statues... they're all going to dissolve into a bath of photons." Funniest thing ever said Great thread by the way guys keep it coming....brilliant
  6. Here he is under his birth name

  11. Once again we need to clear the confusion This site has a different conclusion, so who is in the photo https://thehoundnyc.com/tag/dossie-terry-thunderbird/
  12. Don't wish to embarrass anyone but it appears that our "guy" according to this website is a she http://www.rocky-52.net/chanteurst/terry_d.htm
  13. RIIP sir, you gave the UK youth a memory that will never be forgotten and one day we will all be "On Our Way"
  14. You cannot compare at all, as with Discogs there is no "end date" and if a record is overpriced, then it simply will not be purchased and will sit there until the end of time. Unless of course the buyer is willing to accept an offer
  15. Steve Jeffries told me 10 years ago as well, that some of his wealthy buyers who paid over the odds were people who could not be bothered to hunt around for cheaper prices and I guess that's the same here with John's auctions.
  16. I don't know if we can blame John for the idiotic people out there who pay these prices I do agree though that buying another price guide is a complete waste of money I believe the new term is "status buyers"
  17. Simple question (I Hope) were they in your opinion A) A duo like Sam & Dave or B) 2 individual artists who just happened to record together
  18. Yes it's in the video above 🤣
  19. A VG copy sold in 2019 fro $90 if that helps She was 16 and blind in 1966 when recorded
  20. It appears that they are still going strong Mr Villar https://upaasvblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/04/villar-records-and-the-birth-of-original-pilipino-music-opm/
  21. Just a small query Kev It has come to light that "You Don't Love Me" charted in July 1967 in both Detroit and Cleveland It has been suggested that it may be memory or a typo that this article says released early 1968 or perhaps the Demos were out and being played and the Issues were pressed much later, but thought would throw into the mix for anorak and histories sake if you can confirm please. Discussion is here on link below on Manships recent auction starting down the page The Yank
  22. I apologise for not making myself clear. In Kev Robert's article (Copyright Robert Paladino 2010) it states early 1968 release date, under the 2nd picture of the group, which makes no sense to me unless the sun here in Blackpool is frying my brain Perhaps Demos 1967 and issues early 1968
  23. I thought it was earlier than the end of 1967 as per some stuff I have read, unless I have read it wrong (again)
  24. Discogs has a quote on the Demo stating that the Demo is 10x rare then the Dubious issue. Can someone shed some light on that comment please ?
