could have been polished up with furniture polish i.e mr sheen or something. this comes off as well. try slow running cold water.a bit of squeezy , wipe round with a clean cloth.repeat process, then finish off with more slow running water then dry off. i do this with every 45 that goes thru my hands. gets shit and static out of the grooves. if record is fucked it dont help but it wont harm it anymore either. worth a try dave

the shop copy is mega rare. even the demo goes for £400+ these days. never booted on a 45 as far as i know. could always get one carved if its for your own use at home dave
