  4. Just looking at the Soul Junction label courtesy of Crazy Beat: Ron Henderson & Choice Of Colour - Nobody Will Ever Take Your Love From Me / Hooked On Your Love Johnny Moore - You Fixed It / Your Way Is My Way Jimmy Ruffin - Leading Lady - Take My Hand Jimmy Ruffin - We Finally Found Out / Long Version Not sure any made it to CD before. Where did the Jimmy Ruffin material come from? Rich
  5. Thanks Ady / Paul - Have heard the licenses issue mentioned before thus my question re. the legality of them. As to who buys them I would buy the unissued ones if they were legit but if there not then yes I'm cutting my nose off etc etc. No need to apologise re. the MCPS issue (I keep saying I'm not some megolamniac .. However it is interesting to know how the system works if some stupid fool from a northern town would enter into a financial drain in attempting to issue un-released deep soul material on 45.... Regards Rich
  6. Calling the national copy a re-issue would imply the local copy is out of print which may or may not be the case. The important words here are local and national - And far from wanting to lambast or penalise 'Dave Despenza' for not having enough money or clout to promote and distribute his work across the united states makes the playing of both copies acceptable to the collector / dj IMO I accept there are collectors out there who may agree with you - Someone recently mentioned they would prefer the west coast dist. version as opposed to the east coast which he considered not the first press. IMVHO that is utter sh**e - Economics / Promotion etc etc play a part in a records life and success/failure. Dont forget a lot of these local 45s labels had meagre budgets to start with. Rich
  7. Of course the wand 45 is an original. Just because it's on a local issue before being picked up for national distribution has nothing to do with originality - Its simple economics. 'Dave Despenza' didnt have the brass to distribute all over the country so hawk it to the nationals. The timelines on some would have been ver short in some cases I would have thought. Rich
  8. That's the fella. Don't think its ever been booted?? Maybe some have turned up.... Rich
  9. Here you go Baz - CLICK HERE Cheers Steve for the info on Spencer Wiggins too. Rich
  10. Thanks for that Rob - Good to know there's some new releases in the offing. Charles Brimmers version of Show & Tell is immense. Very much look forward to the new 45s. One for the list - And again like the Garland Green CTM track.. John Edwards 'Tin Man' Knocked me out when I first heard it. Supreme Soul. Rich
  11. I can imagine Baz swerving traffic and flicking V signs in the pursuit of soul..... Bobby Cutchins ' Leaving' was previously mentioned - A few bits also issued from same source - Sone Of Robin Stone - I'm Ready To Give Up My Love / It Only Happens In The Movies Royal Five - Nobody Else / Don't Stop Stella & Gazelles - I'm Not In Love With You Anymore / Topics - Nicer Girl Think all the above are/were unissued recordings - Was the Charles Mintz an alt. take? Rich
  12. Agree Baz - One I absolutley fell in love with the moment I heard it. Stunning to think it lay in the vaults for so long. Hope yr well fella. Rich
  13. Does anyone have an answer as to if the Stardust releases are legit? I've heard conflicting accounts.? ? Inspriations on Benn-X re-press anyone? Was that just a Butch acetate at first? Also, how about Spencer Wiggins - Let's Talk It Over' Legit? Unissued I think before appearing on Jap CD only? Rich
  14. Thanks for the info Jock much appreciated. Sam Dees still to be released as yet but coming soon I'm reliably informed. Best Rich
  15. I'm really not a dictator / take my ball home type.. honest... - On a more serious note the unreleased material on CD's IMO does get over-looked due do its format in some ways?? Did someone mention recently there was one or two on Goldmine?? Rich
  16. JJ BARNES - Love At First Sight (Hayley) JIMMY RUFFIN - The Entertainer/STEVE MANCHA - One in a million EMANUEL LASKEY - (Put your Name) In the Hall of Fame THUNDERBIRD SOUND - In heaven and on earth Nice handful of offerings from Hayley - Was the Loretta Kendrick previously unknown/released? Gorgeous track IMO. Just Brothers 'Honey' ?? Rich
  17. Absolutley agree Andy - Kind of my point in a way. Servicemen a great slice of group soul. As re. the Stardust label guys - Are they legitimate issues? If so there's a fair few on there am I right? Rich
  18. Of course - I didn't realise that was unissued till I read it on the other thread. Always assumed it was LP track. Rich
  19. Thanks Paul - Some real highlights there (including your very own) - Sam Dees being an obvious highlight personally. A lot issued in the 21st century but how about any early ones? Did anyone start the ball rolling so to speak or is a later soul phenomenon? Rich
  20. Whatever the decade I'm not bothered - But just thought we'd stick to the trusty loved 45 format. Plenty to go around....
  21. Oh ok - Previously unreleased material issued on legitimate 45s and not bootlegs for the first time. Hows that? Or do we always have to enter into a debate rather than actually talking about the music which is why we're all here in the first place? I give up sometimes.
  22. So there's the raging debate on OVO thread but what about the music eh? No arguments about OVO etc and should they/should they not be played out (I know my humble opinion) but how about a look at some of the fantastic unreleased tracks on legit labels that have found favour whether on the dancefloor or at home. Label owners / publishing companies feel free to promote and give us a taste of what may be to come! Will kick off with a couple of easy ones: Gloria Shannon - Tears (Are A Gift From Heaven) - REALSIDE Dottie Pearson - Bring It Over Baby / House Made Of Love - Grapevine There's plenty out there without having to resort to the same old boots / oldies. Plenty of recent releases but what about forgotten ones? Rich
  23. Virgil Blanding (VERVE) What a great 45 - £20 great price too. Highly recc. it to anyone. Rich
  24. LINK HERE Should be there fella! Rich
  25. Certainly a handful went thru ebay from the same seller a year or two ago. Not quite sure how many but I don't think it was in the hundreds was it? Awful record anyway Rich
