  3. If it's good enough for Rob Smith mate then it's good enough for me .
  4. Not an overly expensive record but how about The Fourmyula - I Dig Your Act , I'm pretty sure this was a Rob Smith exclusive that he regularly played at Notts Palais in the late Seventies but I don't recall ever hearing it played at Wigan.
  5. Where mate .
  6. Hi, looking for a Near Mint demo or issue of The Four Pro's - Just Another Girl on Carla , please p.m. me on price and label/vinyl condition if you have one for sale, many thanks. SORTED
  7. Is anyone else astounded at what price The Ascots sold for ?
  8. This is clearly a very subjective and personal opinion for each and everyone of us as it will either bring back memories of times gone by or what we may be currently into in the style of soul we like, it's like the question 'name your top five soul records ', I must have at least fifty in mine , but the following three ( four ) guys will always be top of my list ...... Richard Searling - massive sounds he broke and played at Wigan. John Vincent - Samantha's ( Sheffield ) , I still love the sounds he played there in the Seventies. Rob Smith - The Palais, Brit etc. Nottingham's finest and a truly great guy. Finally a special mention to the late,` great Nev Wherry, the legacy of the sounds he played will always be with us.
  9. I'm sure some members will have seen my requests / searches for a Near Mint copy of Judi Scott - Billy Sunshine on Page One records and I have had no luck in finding one. What surprises me is that it is a ( relatively ) cheap record when sold, I've only ever heard it played once ( by Nev Wherry at The Bowling Green - Newark ) and yet it appears to be rarer than records thirty or forty times it's value. I would be really interested in any members opinions or hopefully guidance in helping me find a copy and appreciate any help.
  10. So here is my next play to find a near mint Judi Scott - Billy Sunshine on Page One. I would swap a near mint UK Tamla Motown Red and White demo Brenda Holloway - When I'm Gone with any Soul Source member willing to trade ? Please p.m. me if interested. Sorted
  11. Hi , a few years ago I started collecting again having sold my first collection ( for what is now a pittance ) twenty odd years ago. One of the records I am really searching for is a Mint / Near Mint copy of Judi Scott - Billy Sunshine on Page One ,I can only recall Nev Wherry ever playing this record but I would really appreciate any help from fellow site members in helping me find a copy. I made a request on the Wants list section which has had several hundred views but as I found out discussions are not allowed on that section. Many thanks if anyone can provide some help. Sorted
