House Music
To be honest Pete, that's what I'd expect to hear from a 60's 4/4 etc, etc lover...............I would always expect those folk to like house rather than the smother stuff that the likes of Roger Williams, myself and numerable others also play..........it's mor akin to their roots. Always surprises me that very little do though (or SAY they do)........will it change????? Cheers, Mark R

House Music
Wonder if you'd have said that if there were a 30 year time shift Pete, and it was what you grew up on as an 18 year old at Wigan Casino??? We'll never have an answer to that will we? Cheers, Mark R

House Music
Pete............the chords, the nuancies, it's all there mate if you dig out the best examples................Epic hit the nail on the head with his post mate. I'm proud to say I can hear "it" in music from the 60's to the present day...............that doesn't make me better than anyone else BTW, but personally I can't imagine NOT having that appreciation. Of course though, whatever the era/genre, there's good and bad! Cheers, Mark R

House Music
And the Motown formula, as an example, didn't????? It didn't have a "sound" that was like a signature?? As Ivor says, if you don't like it, you are probably likely to say this! Cheers, Mark R

See Some Real Dancers
In my experience, every session is a dance comp of sorts...........sure Martin would back me up on that..........if you watch closely, they are always "battling" and taking it in turns..........congratulating each other etc..........great camaraderie. And arniej.........you are quite right..........I have seen some great NS dancers over the years, but of all the dancers I've seen, these guys and gals are the dogs bollocks!!! Not jazz dance, but topical to SS memebers..........here's Keb showing the youngsters how it's done in Russia: Cheers, Mark R

Soul Night Disgrace

Soul Night Disgrace
You've said it Steve.............I could equally say that those who chose to side step the finer details do so because some of the arguments are thin at best! Cheers, Mark R
-
Soul Night Disgrace
OK Ken............give or take abit of terminology, it's not the original realease.............that's my point! So it is OK providing he has a real one?? That's my viewpoint, but I've even seen that decried on here! Cheers, Mark R

Soul Night Disgrace
Should I go and hound Soul Sam off stage at a modern doo because he's playing a hot new CD cut off a vinyl 7" that he's had cut because he doesn't play CD's?? It's a "boot" (OK, not made to sell at a profit, but a "boot" of sorts), but I doubt anyone would care a jot in that scenario!! If you collect originals, that's your choice isn't it? Why should what someone else does affect that..............I'd just be happy owning my originals I think. If you were earning a living from DJ'ing, it would be understandable that you might be a bit pissed off at the proliferation of both DJ's and non-original vinyl, but as it is that's not really the case in most instances is it?? So is it an ego thing? Always read these threads with interest and a degree of amusement..............could say lots more but I'm lazy at typing long replys, and as a modern boy it doesn't really affect me much! Cheers, Mark R
