  1. I uploaded loads more new stuff in my recently re-opened eBay shop. A few bits off my latest sales list, but some others also. All of 'em have a best offer-option + I offer flat shipping rates for up to 5 45s. So some good oofers + the flat rates could produce a nice bargin for you guys. >>>CLICK HERE<<< to check 'em all out.
  2. List fully up to date now + open to offers on everything that's left from the list.
  3. Good to see just a few likeminded soul(ie)s on here btw. Makes me feel just a little bit less strange.
  4. I dropped my record cleaning fluid a few weeks ago, which caused the bottle to break and for a few days it was absolutely impossible to enter the room without getting a very chemical type of high, followed by a very nasty headache. Made me decide to just hang on to my record sniffing habit instead of moving on to something stronger
  5. Tricky question... I guess they both have their merits. I like to smell the life a VG- record has led, but I slightly prefer mint warehouse find 45s. And yes, they do smell different. dogstoat, I'm off now to get wasted and might be doing so throughout he weekend, so it's perfectly possible to go out, have fun and then have a few vinyl sniffs just before I go to bed (yes I always try to keep a small pile near my bed just in case )
  6. I was looking for a few reply's along the lines of "I sniff 'em too mate, it's perfectly normal for anyone even remotely interested in collecting records". As they might make me feel a bit less miserable
  7. Do you guys also like the smell of your records in the morning? I know I do... I think the smell is an often undervalued part of a record collection. And the smell is also one of the strongest senses that are linked with association. In quite a few cases I can tell just by their smell which package a certain record was in when I received it. I sometimes also catch myself sniffing my records, and in my opinion the ones in their brown paper sleeves are the best to sniff (and company sleeves are ok too). Any other members on here do this too? Or do I need some professional help or join 45ists anonymous? Of course there's a downside to everything, and in this case it's the records that have that cigarette smell or things like that. The worst example of this is a package I got from Italy a few years back. The records were nice/in the condition described etc, but they honestly smelled like they had been lying next to a dead whale for the better part of a month. The smell was absolutely unbearable. It got better over time, but when I'm browsing through my records I can sometimes still grasp a whiff that takes me back to the moment I opened that package, and trust me, there's better moments to remember than that one. Btw: I opened the package while in hospital, cause myparents were kind enough to take the new arrivals with them for me to open 'em. After I opened 'the package of death' I was afraid some nurses would be running into the room, thinking a remarkably vile epidemic of gangreen just broke out in my room. I left the hospital soon after that but I pity the patient that came in after me C'mon lads, this forum does deserve a thread about the smell of our 45s. Feel free to contribute, and if you ever feel like you're taking the record collecting too far remember there's always guys like me that are even more pathetic
  8. Well the solution Mike's proposed would also solve the problem of posts instantly disappearing imo + it would cancel out the chance to find a way around the guidelines (mates bumping threads etc.) Just a small afterthought... The reason why posts are disappearing so quickly is not only because of the excessive bumping of threads. It's also because more and more people are finding their way to this forum/forum section to sell their soul discs. In fact I even think it won't be long before it'll surpass eBay in popularity (I'm only talking about northern soul 45s of course). And this can only be a good thing imo...
  9. Just did this and it does give you a better view of which lists are the freshest/least viewed/most likely to contain a few bargains. So it's better from a buyer's point of view (so in the end it'll also be better from a seller's point of view). + when the section is set up like that you can just post some quick updates without bothering whether you're pushing the boat out a bit too much bump-wise
  10. And they find out what dubious substances are in there by stabbing it? I wonder which genius came up with that idea.
  11. Goddamn norwichdancer, what's the deal with your avatar mate? I was just finishing a nice pizza, but that pic gave it a bit of a bitter aftertaste...
  12. I'm up for this too, as I often need 4/5 posts just to upload every record I have, and with this rule I'd be able to do this without having to bump.
  13. wtf??? why do they do this?
