News: Sad News Frank Wilson Has Died
R. I. P. Frank Wilson.... The man's legacy will continue to be played around the world, and like it or not, "Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)" is the pinacle of the Northern Soul scene musically and always will be. Why? Not because of the price tag for IT becoming the rarest soul 45 ever! But because... It was a magical moment in so many people's lives when they remember that feeling that surged through them when this was played and they heard it for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or more time. It caused adrenalin to pump round the veins of young teens up and down the country and fight for space on the dance floors. (It still does for many of today's middle aged people !) It became the reason to get involved in the rare soul scene and turn us into the soul junkies we all are some 30 or 40+ years on. It's worth noting that Frank Wilson also was more than someone who worked at Motown and in various roles in the music industry. He branched out in his life and helped other's in more than just the musical sense and contributed in numerous ways to help people (of which if you take the time to look and do some homework) you'll discover the man's belief's no doubt guided his humanitarian path. A talent many will miss. A human being the world will miss. Even though I never met you I will never forget you for how you changed my life. Thank you Frank Wilson. God bless...

News: Wilton Ballroon All-Nighters To End in 2013
Well what can I say? I agree totally with Ady on this. I remember a time when there was only 4 regular allnighters (100 Club, Wilton, Hyde & Stockport) and 2 soul nights (Bretby & Allbrighton) that were keeping the torch burning on New 6T's & 70's Northern Soul in the early / mid 90's. When you were lucky to get 100 in at a nighter. To be fare to Mouse and Dave, other things have had to take presidence over their lives and rightly so. I know several people have offered to carry the nights on with moneytry help. But the reasons given are valid one's. A great venue that I have always enjoyed with great people and great records. I've dj'd there countless times and for me it was perfect placement being 2 mins from the motorway in the middle of a industrial eastate. It rightly deserved the title "100 Club of the north". I hope they do keep it going at least for another year with soul nights as it would be nice to see a 21st anniversary night. March 2013 will be a sad time to celebrate my birthday but everything must end, so lets ram the place full on Friday, the Darrow Fletcher concert (including one Gaz Welsh) and next March's allnighter!

Pete will always be missed on the soul scene, he was a 'True' soul man, a font of knowledge, genuine passion and someone to remember with laughter and respect.
