  1. Japan release for RSD, very nice high revs & uptempo modern soul number, not cheap for a new release but well worth it imo, sound clips and record for sale on Juno
  2. I have a question to ask you: Finally, this book, shows the entire Philadelphia Soul records by artists from Philly or from any other state or country (on PIR, Atlantic, Spring, Brunswick, Buddah, ABC,… or any other label) who recorded at Sigma Sound under the direction / assistance of the Philly regular writers, arrangers, producers, studio musicians? One of my personal obsessions is how hundreds (or thousands?) of records have been recorded by no obvious Philly artists, for example the Fania All-Stars LP co-produced by Vincent Montana, Jr. or the Lola Falana Philly stuff… the outside productions by Tom Bell (from Eloise Laws to Chuck Mangione), G & H (from Nancy Wilson to Sweet Inspirations), McFadden & Whitehead (from Melba Moore to James Brown), Harris-Baker-Young (from Four Tops to The Dells), Bobby Eli (from Jackie Moore to John Handy), Dexter Wansel (from Carl Carlton to Grover Washington, Jr.)... Thanks in advance by a spanish Philly Soul obsessed, 🙂
  3. interesting release just out on Outta Sight records, first time on 45 and never heard of the Valerie Simpson demo before "...our OVO… “Are You Trying To Get Rid Of Me Baby”. This storming unreleased dancer first came to our attention courtesy of Kent Records and their 1986 Magic Touch album. The song was originally known by the Crystals on U.A. which has grown in popularity and value in recent times. VALERIE SIMPSON is better known as one half of music bis. royalty Ashford & Simpson who need little introduction. She co-wrote our topside and “Mr Creator” which she demos here to great effect."

  9. Looking at the very poor condition some of these high price items have fetched, there must be some very desperate collectors out there!
  10. they charged me a little over $5 to ship the Ernest Ernie record to UK 🙂 economy shipping Dusty Groove are great
  11. Dusty Groove records (US) have economy shipping as an option I think, not expensive at all, but I don't know if they are stocking it, maybe contact them?
  12. this new release from the US is fantastic, limited run on 45, can pre-order https://thependletonssf.bandcamp.com/album/you-do-you-life-to-me
  13. they are all from the same stamper, released in same time frame and so it's really a no brainer, of course they are, I don't think anyone would argue unless they are a bit odd 🙂
  14. we've been listening to the LP a lot, the first 45 off the album released yesterday
  15. the Brainstory 45 got a release today, limited run of first press with a second press already planned, b side is good too
  16. If I stayed on the site long enough I knew someone finally would! 🙂 It's hard to believe there was at least one other "genuine" bidder prepared to pay close to the closing amount.
