  5. thats double great news dave ! to be honest i was a bit wary of starting this thread in case u told me to fook off cos u would be too busy etc, but im glad i did now,a lot of people on here have said how influential stafford was in the history of our scene and i certainly agree with such a statement,bout time as many details as possible are documented about stafford and that era of rare soul music,im sure u will convert the barn when time allows, books before barns i say ! cant wait to read the book, cheers dave

  7. thanks for the reply dave, i think loads of people have bought books about wigan etc but never went, i also think because of the small numbers it has a feeling of mystery about it, lots of recent converts to the scene love to read of its history, ive read books on wigan but never went, also u made a good point about the social aspects of the country at the time, thatcher etc, i would deffo buy a book about stafford top of the world

  10. too true ian, theres got to be enough info on stafford to easily fill a book, what about the charactors, the record finds, the relationship between the 60s mafia, the record hounds who fed the djs etc ? the list could be endless
  11. seems to me that there are many books written about the scene and its venues, especially memoirs of great venues that are no longer with us so my question to mr thorley is this.... would you ever consider writing a book about one of, if not the best,nighters of all time, STAFFORD top of the world ?

  17. thats brilliant mate, worded perfectly, stafford broke the mould and made me realise what true soul sounded like, room full of tears is one of the greatest soul records ever in my opinion, nice one mate

  21. a friend wants to know how to tell original 7 dwarfs from a boot,he has 2 boots (?) yellow and darker yellow/close to orange colour and both have identical info scratched in run out, yellow weight is 40 grams, orange weight is 34 grams, anyone have scans of orig and boot ? cheers jason
