How Did You Get To 70's Venues
£7 ?? What year was that then? or did the train go via Aberdeen? When I used to go to Wigan ('73 to '74) it was £1.10 return, Sheffield to Manchester, then straight to the Rowntree Sound pub near Victoria Station for a couple of hours, then train to Wigan for about 40P. When the Casino first started, me and the rest of the Sheffield crowd had a mini-bus, driven by an old bloke who used to kip in the bus while we went inside the nighter - till one week when we gave him some gear and he came in with us. He loved it !! Them were the days!! Cheers, Chris

Salvadors "stick By Me Baby" On Wise World For Sale
- Aretha Franklin
her early stuff on Columbia is great, 'Runnin' out of fools' my great fave, not exactly Northern though. But ..Baby's Face as you know is superb and also 'One room paradise' is fast and furious but maybe a little early for some..- Otis Reading, instrumental
- One For Those Who Like R&b (little Jr. Parker)
Superb Loll- Not Wanting To Steal A Thread But What Is Your Fav. Gene Chandler Track?
It's got to be Mr Bigshot, Wigan 1973, I'm back there every time I play it, on the dancefloor next to Booper, getting sprayed with his sweat every time he spins! The most atmospheric record ever, IMO Then "Bet you never thought", the Brunswick recording, not Constellation. Sheer Magic. - Aretha Franklin
