Curious
nope. you are hilarious though.

rags was definitely first, I think I'm just arguing over the definition of "local release"
-
Curious
how did the "local release" copies get to chicago as store stock, which I have found before? what else does "local release" even mean except that it was only distributed locally? it's a smaller label / less distributed release that got picked up by a larger label. Jerry Ragavoy was a major producer.
-
Curious
I'm pretty sure neither release is "local", they were both distributed nationally. One just got picked up by the larger label (epic) for better distribution.

2 Great Chicago Sides For Sale
It was pressed in Chicago, like the early Karen records, but I think it was Detroit. It could have been recorded in Chicago like some of the early Karen stuff. Either way, I think you sold it at a fair price for the buyer, rare record.

Wendel Western - Nag On Me
are you saying you bought it buy it now for $450 and he made you pay more or are you saying the end price isn't displaying correctly? either way, that's the seller that had the initial quantity that he put onto the market.

You Tube Digging
I agree with this. Now that everyone is on the internet, people google themselves and find it on youtube, it has become the best way to find people at this point. I spend so much time trying to find people in real life and they'll now find you if you just put a clip on youtube.

The Visitors (Chicago)
someone on here should be able to get you a contact for eugene smiley though (the essence of love guy who was previously in the visitors), I'm sure many british people have talked to him

The Visitors (Chicago)
There is no photo of the group in the soul book and Robert Pruter doesn't have a Visitors photo. He got most of Carl Davis' photos so probably Carl Davis doesn't either. Eugene Smiley might if you contact him, let me know if you get a photo.

The Visitors (Chicago)
The person I interviewed, Ray Foreman, didn't have a photo. The other group referred to is the Mist on Twinight, same group.

Sweet Deep & Group Ballad Cd Swap
I have a double to sell or trade if you want it. I actually paid $150 for my copy but that was too much I think. I can dig out my double if you want, I wouldn't want that much, I would have to find it.

Sweet Deep & Group Ballad Cd Swap
Thanks for clearing this up. Better to buy the ace kent cd than the soulful thangs bootleg, plus you get more "us" music. Also, the track did come out on the best of funkadelic lp with the goat's head on it.
-
Sweet Deep & Group Ballad Cd Swap
I own the record. The group is "us music". Ace kent reissued a cd of an unreleased westbound album. I read the liner notes online at some point. I think they were from ohio and funkadelic was the band.
-
Sweet Deep & Group Ballad Cd Swap
It's not funkadelic (although I think the members were absorbed into funkadelic afterwards). There is some information in the liners of the recent ace-kent release of their whole unreleased LP.

Wild Honey - I´ve Been Working
I think I maybe paid $100 or less? If the record is known or if you want it sooner you would have to pay more I guess.

Wild Honey - I´ve Been Working
