  1. I've held back the great unreleased Bollinger tracks for a little later (there are I think three in the vault), whilst we try and find out some more about him. The XL / Sounds Of Memphis comp has his 1967 single 'You Can Lead Your Woman To The Altar'. Charles Chalmers - who produced the sessions - only memories of him were that he was from Chicago and was hard to record. Love to hear 'Gotta Hold On You'. Any chance of a soundclip?

As some of you may know I have been going through the SOM archive for a series of releases on Kent - Barbara Brown out now, a label comp out next month - and we have come upon a bunch of unreleased Louis / Ovations cuts in amongst the tapes. I'm pretty certain that there isn't a version of 'Still A Part Of Me' though. There will be an Ovations / Louis CD from this era early next year. There are also a few unreleased Minits cuts and some stunning photos of them. Dean
  3. I think this is the Creative Funk 45 that Jazzman Gerald sold last year for about £200 - not this exact copy - so not a one off. But obviously rare if JM hasn't seen a copy. I think I will ask Gerald what he knew about it, as he obviously knew enough to price it high.
  4. The 45 is from the same time as the LP, not later. Uptite was Fania's RnB label - presumably because RnB radio woud ignore records from a Latin label.
