Jackie Trent Only One Such As You Jackie gave Northern Soul quite a few recordings to consider throughout the 60’s but this NS Popcorn mover is the best and rarest. I defy anyone to listen to this Chris Andrews composition at not be pulled into it’s contagious arrangement courtesy of Jackie’s husband to be Tony Hatch. Right from the xylophone littered intro you know your in for a treat, as Jackie’s demonstrative vocal lifts and falls perfectly to the infectious rhythmic happenings… One listen and you’re hooked…One glance at the label scan and you’re in love..and this 48 year old in an amazing perfect MINT - ! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 184.00 Lou Johnson The Magic Potion Of: 4 Track Ep Do not confuse this with the relatively worthless 90’s Goldmine label press that replicated the front cover. This is the authentic seldom-seen1963 UK 4 track EP showcasing the doyen of the Big City Sound authoritative vocal style. Includes his best from that year Reach Out For Me Always Something There To Remind Me A Message To Martha Magic Potion Neat clean vinyl, two perfect labels and a laminated sleeve with only very light shade of age “browning” as the only flaw. A UK only testament to this great man’s beginnings Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 110.00 Techniques I Feel So Good Inside C/w The Project Song The growing demand for Sweet Soul harmony records from the European collectors, has sparked us to process as much 60’s & 70s harmony group ballads during the holidays as possible. Over 100 new titles have been added to the site in the Group Harmony section, with the same amount pulled and reserved for future auction listings. We kick off our now weekly listing of Sweet Soul 7’s with this delicious Texas rarity from Austin. This is the same band who gave us the impossible 45 on “Twink” again they skillfully weave a Sweet Soul delight that gracefully builds as the falsetto lead soars aloft a perfect cloud of harmonious backing. Sweet Soul could hardly be sweeter… so silky-smooth n’dreamy. The flip as so often happens with these street-level indie creations jets off in a different direction with a gritty excursion into FUNK. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 86.00 Marvin Gaye Pride And Joy Condition, condition, condition. TMG addicts and compulsive up-graders you will not find a finer copy of this 1963 UK Motown Oriole than the copy n front of you now - still as you can see from the graffiti on the company sleeve it’s still sits in it’s original birth-sleeve; with every so very near to perfect! Beautiful! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 134.00

Home Of The Blues No. 6 November 1966 Continuing our historical listings of very rare 60s British Soul Fanzine comes this debutant to the auction - the much-hunted embryonic Blues & Soul magazine as “Home Of The Blues” this is issue 6 from November 1966 - and I’m not ashamed to say I’ve not seen it before. This issue the front picture underlines how obscure the editor John Abbey dug - with a leading picture of North Carolina vocal-group The Corsairs. Other features cover Percy Sledge (with pic), Bobby Hebb, 5 Stairsteps (with pic)) Otis Redding (live review of his performance at “THE TILES), Robert Parker (live review of his performance at “THE TILES” London, Linda Carr, The Tonics and a review of the 5th. American Folk Blues Festival. Percy Sledge live Sunday Night @ the Harlem Apollo, meeting DJ’s Frankie Crocker & Rocky G backstage A unique insight into Joey Young & The Tonics and up & coming Jamaican gathering gaining a reputation on the London Soul circuit. Plus new release 45 reviews… You could not get this information anywhere else..unique window into the beginnings of the British Soul Scene… Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 305.00 Showstoppers Gotta Get Closer To My Love C/w Heartbreaker ONE OF THREE KNOWN COPIES ON PLANET EARTH. For the first time ever for auction in the UK! Click the sound file and prepare to be blown…….away! One of only THREE copies known to exist! This is the aborted follow up to their Club-hit “Ain’t Nothing But a House Party” that never saw the light of day in the USA. A 1968 “Frankford & Wayne” stamped SHOWTIME 102 test press gives up not one but TWO astonishingly good Northern Soul dancers that almost defy believe. The UK tours sparked by the success of “House Party” in England delayed this groups return to Philadelphia, leading to a string of UK Beacon releases that never received a USA press. The magnificent “Heartbreaker” received a 1968 UK only release but NOT “Gotta Get Closer To My Love ” which had wait until 1979 for a ltd press on Neil Rushton’s Inferno label under the banner of previously unissued. If you like the RARE and unbelievably good this 45 delivers on all fronts. Intimidating vocal-group Northern Soul of the very highest calibre. This copy has a TINY 12mm hairline edge crack, not affecting play in the slightest. The only other person in Europe to own this 45 is the World’s #1 Norther Soul DJ… Northern Soul collecting can hardly get rarer or better than this! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 371.00 Raymond Kee You Got Me Goin' C/w Dancin' On My Mind Rare Soul Scholars wrap your ears around this New Jersey 12” obscurity and the masterful vocal of Raymond Kee! On this his D.I.Y. project where is spares no expense with a shrill group of girls hanging on his every word with timely and heavenly harmony chorus back up. Vocally strong and precisely produced soulful-stepper from the top-drawer, with the right credentials for a weekend break at Soul Essence, Great Yarmouth or a Saturday night out at The Orwell where all truly soulful obscurities eventually end up. Flip it over and a huge lump of Boogie launches itself out you, this may well make take a trip on a cross channel ferry.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 69.00 Barbara Acklin I'm Not Mad Anymore C/w Nobody Cares You are viewing one of the rarest Northern Soul 45s it is possible to own. That comes from the knowledge that this disc is the FIRST copy John Manship Records has had to offer since the hot-summer of 1976! When I foolishly swapped it for some forgotten nonsensical in-demand disco-tripe that became so popular that year. One of my lifes biggest regrets…. at least when I traded Euro-Disco dross with Colin Curtis; I gave him Bernie Williams - Ever Again - for Andre Gagnon’s - Wow - I can can truthfully say I’ve acquired several “Bernie’s” since then. But this extreme rarity took fully 36 years to get again.. so having validated this disc extreme elusivity - click the sound-file to hear why I spent the rest of the 20th. Century in vinyl-remorse. No smooth-as-silk Brunswick session here, it’s a Monk Higgins journey into PROPER-NORTHERN as he interprets Pam Sawyer & Lori Burton’s lyrics - like only the collaboration of Monk & Burgess Gardner so often did. And the flipside is a killer too… Condition of both labels is clean, vinyl both is immaculate - except the A-side vinyl has a minuscule dimple which we have run the soundf8ilev through - listen ti hear it play clean & true! But I’m very happy today - to be able to listen to and hold such a NS Jewel ! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 989.00

Miracles Shop Around C/w Who's Loving You With this Motown classic on the 1960 UK release, it’s all about CONDITION. TMG addicts may have a quick dash to the shelves and see if your file copy is a strong clean Mint - with two perfect labels. Motown’s first USA #1 never took off in Britain and sold little and today 52 years later a copy in Mint minus copy is seldom on offer. If your upgrading - this will be your last purchase of this groundbreaking Motown anthem. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 70.00 Kai Winding Comin' Home Baby The power of the MOD scene has shaped and reshaped Northern Soul throughout the decades and is still doing so today. The DJ’s being slightly left field with some of their choices for dancefloor reaction but many rising up past and beyond MOD to become Northern Soul dancefloor favourites. Mel Torme’s - Coming Home Baby - is one such record that is so infectious most every variation of the song is warmly welcomed by the dancer. In recent times Dee Dee Sharp’s Cameo LP take on it, went NS “massive”. Here’s an instrumental take that has also enjoyed strong dance-floor reaction over the years - but rarely if ever witnessed as this ridiculously rare 1963 UK DEMO! So very MOD and a great Northern Soul instrumental too…in by far it’s rarest and most-desirable form. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 63.00 Royalettes Only When You're Lonely C/w You Bring Me Down Teddy Randazzo’s scintillating girl-group with one of their finest offerings to Northern Soul hidden away on a flip side. This is a stunningly silky version of the Ken Williams composition that Holly Maxwell brought to our attention via the selective turntable choice of Richard Searling. The serious UK collector will not only appreciate the allure of the Red & White DEMO but also the rarity of this 45 as the 1966 UK press. So take a listen, this 45 is so much more than a thing of beauty, the grooves drip with soulful sultry girl-group class, just as you’d expect when Teddy Randazzo is at the controls. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 33.00

Oaxaca Stop Your Crying Collecting Northern Soul does not get any obscurer than this debutant! Spectacularly RARE Crossover groove that will have you guessing and re-guessing it’s origins - an Ernest Rios project blending jazz, soul and some of the most fantastic saxophone work into and uplifting vocal group dancer that constantly changes with unexpected instrumental breaks and a lead girl vocal that will enter your soul. Highpoint is a brief slow down in pace, highlighted by a lone saxophone..and we’re off again, into dance mode. Perhaps the rarest crossover 45 we have listed in memory…awaiting an inspired DJ who doesn’t run with the crowd.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 287.00 Stage Coach When You Left You Did Me In C/w Come With Me The seldom seen 45 from the so-wanted 1984 Los Angeles indie United Sound album - Playing Games - An album wanted mostly for it’s electro Boogie cuts, but we’ve lead with the exceptional harmony vocal ballad that drifts into pure soul as a lazy piano eases along with a hurting lead vocal. What a line “When You Left You Did Me In”! Adrian Chivers life-experience lyrics are subtly handled by the highly hones production skills of Patrick Moten. It’s not the first or last time Mr. Moten has pleasured the rare soul collector, this one if you love 80s soul-steppes is exceptional for the genre. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 37.00 Lorenzo Manley (i'm Gonna) Swoop Down On You This one is for the Old School Northern Soulie - this tune today is a distant but fond memory for those who attended Up The Junction, Va Va’s, The Torch, Catacombs, Bletsoe etc. and all the other all nite Soul clubs scattered around England in opening years of the 70s. We think this classic would be a great revival choice, it would certainly please the paid-up members of the Soul fraternity. But that is not why it’s on auction today. There is a huge army of dedicated NS collectors chasing the real-deal classics in there rarest form and in the finest possible;e condition. So how about this VERY RARE PROMO in PERFECT condition still encased in it’s 46 year old birthday jacket. Looks beautiful doesn’t it - click the sound file to be rocketed back to the “TORCH”… or wherever fed your soul 40n years ago.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 109.00

Bobby Paris I Walked Away So perfect is this copy - we have used a previous listing for the sound-file, as we are determined to keep the integrity of this UNPLAYED 45 year old disc. A Northern Soul classic that enjoys a scramble and dash for dancefloor space every time it’s played. Even after near 40 years this NS Anthem still has the power to lift an evening! Nuff said - if it wasn’t for the discreet date on label 8-13-67 you’d think this copy was made yesterday.. You will not ever find a fine copy! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 331.00 Rudy Mockabee Sweet Thing C/w Cheer Up (daddy's Coming Home) Every dog has it’s day on the Northern Soul scene - I can remember Brian “45” Phillips listing this 45, on his legendary & eagerly awaited Friday Northern Soul lists from Manchester. Strange name? I thought - but of course I was chasing the more obvious things like Jerry Cook - I Hurt On The Other Side etc. so I never heard it until some years later. Now fully 40 years on - this mountain of snarling Georgia Northern Soul is receiving big backing from the DJ’s determined to inject life into their sets. Hear Rudy churn out one of those growling sessions you associate with the greats like Bobby Bland, Buddy Lamp & Johnny Sayles. Dave Crawford surrounds this curled-up-top-lip performance with horns, bass and a Soul-Sister chorus; then wisely makes it a Northern Soul winner with a cool repeated twice instrumental break with Bass Guitar and drums driving it to another level! Deep Soul scholars will be quick to point out the flipside is an on-ya-knees version of Roy Lee Johnson’s Deep as-you-like-it classic! Two great sides and please not this copy was perhaps UNPLAYED before we lifted the impressive sound file. Flip has a light surface blemish - a-sde is PERFECT! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 134.00 Monitors We're The Monitors RARE 1968 USA PROMO copy still retains original inner sleeve. We’ve raved over many LPs on these pages - especially Hesitations, Freddie Butler, Tempests etc. About tracks of Northern Soul distinction that failed to achieve release as a 45, this album offers a tad more than that. Besides giving up two spectacular non-45 NS outings 1. Somebody Share A Little Love With Me 2. Serve Yourself A Cup Of Happiness. It also offers the group’s very best V.I.P. recordings 1. Say You 2. Since I Lost You Baby 3. The Further You Look The Less You See 4. Number One In Your Heart 5. Step By Step etc. etc. In fact every track is a winner + the bonus of a glorious harmony ballad “Share The Blame” so check out the irresistible taster soundfile, it will galvanize your respect for this much under-rated Motown Group who unfortunately for us only release one album…this it and it’s GREAT! As a PROMO copy it’s so much more than great… Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 70.00 Rod Jordan I Live In A Castle Motor City BEAT BALLAD HEAVEN! You can always guarantee a mountainous production when Ollie McLaughlin is behind the screen. Check out this mighty Detroit Beater, the easy going vocal strolls through a maze of vibes, trombones and strings..perfectly timed breaks are filled with xylophone rings, violins and brass. Just as you settle the production builds and builds t such a pitch it’ll have you punching the air. Personally I think this is a unsung NS masterpiece enthrall with it’s majestic charm, no more superlatives from me; enjoy and like me you’ll run dry of words to describe this significant Detroit happening. PS this copy is MINT! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 219.00

Cashmeres Show Stopper C/w Don't Let The Door Hit Your Back No words from me can elevate this disc any higher than it already sits… This is Northern Soul vocal-group dance at it VERY FINEST! BOTH SIDES! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 1,717.00 Arcades There's Got To Be A Loser C/w The Soul P. W. Rumor has it Ron Badger was a local Bay Area entrepreneur and “Car Dealer” ? Well if Ron did sell cars, he was also certainly very well connected with the Oakland music scene, as this recording involves the great Johnny Hartsman & prolific indie soul producer Jesse Mason. The gathering gives the year earlier Jessie James’s - “Are You Gonna Leave Me” failure a rethink using a vocal group to pep things up and have a 2nd. shot at a hit. As we now know, this one too failed miserably, creating not one but two highly regarded Northern Soul rarities using the same backing track. Until recent times the Jesse James seemed to be the much-rarer of the two achieving 4 figure sums at auction. These days this gap has closed and so has the value. Being a sucker for the vocal-group sound I prefer this take - and today to have a copy in totally pristine condition has alerted me to dig in my collection copy out and start playing it in sets. Take a listen I think you’ll agree this is one helluva tune.. that requires much more exposure.. then the value-gap between Jesse and Arcades will certainly shrink some more.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 486.00 Billboard - The World Of Soul June 24th. 1967 Edition Documenting the Impact Of Blues and R&B upon our musical culture! BILLBOARD “WORLD OF SOUL” special June 24 1967 - an unequaled gathering of 92 pages dedicated to the 60s Soul Record Companies and their artists.. I Particularly like the clean-line company adverts - the Record-art, the artist stories and the sheer volume of information bulging from it’s page. The cover has light creasing but all the goodies inside are in excellent UNBLEMISHED condition. Keep as a whole or break up for just far too many nostalgic pics begging to be framed. See some of the inside ads and pics at our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/john.manship.7 Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 84.00 Johnny Tipp Till I Met You As the world’s foremost Deep Soul expert Mr. Shambling will confirm this raresoulman debut listing is a RAREST OF THE RARE Deep Soul trophy and a previously UNDOCUMENTED release. The mysterious Johnny Tipp co-writes this “Otis” inspired excursion into despair. Recorded in New York by Sanfris’s ever-present label owner & producer Miss Santa Friscia, a lady who seemed to be able to produce all the different styles of music Sanfris were prepared to release. Unfortunately this street-level enterprise failed with most all their releases and to my knowledge this was there one and only journey into the Deep Soul arena. Listen and you’ll hear a tuly beseeching recording that Percy Sledge, Arthur Conley and maybe even the “BIG O” would have been proud of. Rare in the extreme! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 68.00

Christine Cooper Heartaches Away My Boy A timeless Northern Soul Anthem! and perhaps the finest example of MOTOWN being OUT-MOTOWNED! Whilst Motown hogged the charts with all their array of female-chart-busters many tried to emulate, equal and sometimes surpass the Motown Sound. This SUPER K - Richie Cordell & Sal Trimachi session was enriched by the presence of Bert “Super Hits” DeCoteaux proving the right combination for the trio to craft and better that sound. Oh course when Ian Levine first played it at the Blackpool Mecca it was an instant success rocketing to the country’s most-wanted disc. Today that demand hasn’t wavered one iota, 40 years on it still signals a stampede for floor space.. After all it is flawless girl vocal Northern Soul at it’s very best.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 461.00 P. P. Arnold Everything's Gonna Be Alright A quirk of fate, when the Rolling Stones toured the USA with Ike & Tina Turner’s review Andrew Loog Oldham was urged by Mick Jagger to sign this talented “Ikette” to the Immediate label and boy are we glad he did. Andrew Loog Oldham took charge of her debut session himself, writing, arranging and producing P.P.’s this UK single that received little or no air play; failing miserably - until those Northern Soul junk-shops ferrets dug a copy out for it to rise up as a NS dance-floor monster at the beginning of the 70’s. Before you today is a disc that comfortably easily sits in the top five greatest UK productions to be accepted by the Northern Soul scene. I’ve junked and ferreting for vinyl all y life - and am not afraid to admit I’ve never found this record out in the “wild” - ridiculously rare as the STOCK copy. A-side vinyl is immaculate - the insignificant flipside has a light scuff. COLLECTING BRITISH SOUL at it’s most challenging. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 512.00 Kenny Smith Lord, What's Happening To Your People For those of you seeking the NORTHERN SOUL CLASSICS in the finest possible condition, in their rarest form - this listing will certainly have already caught your eye. Colin Curtis was always a DJ to push the boundaries and when the needle was dropped on this incomparable tune at The Blackpool Mecca, the Northern Soul frontier opened up… decidedly different in every respect to rise from those first daring plays to become a Top Mecca tune, a Cleethorpes Pier Anthem and Manchester Ritz regular and within 18 months a real-deal NS classic! From those early days all the DJ’s lucky enough to own a copy, played it from the White PROMO press. When the rare and colourful STOCK copy eventually broke surface it caused much-talk, envy and frantic-foraging to try and own one. So seldom seen for the sale in this form and the ultimate way to own it …this copy is “like new” Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 311.00

Brenda Holloway When I'm Gone C/w I've Been Good To You When Mary Wells was lured by the bright lights of 20th. Century Fox her release of “When I’m Gone” complete with scheduled picture sleeve was shelved never to emerge again. The song was handed over to the Los Angeles songbird Brenda Holloway - for which she achieved a sizable USA R&B hit with her sultry rendition. You are viewing the elusive 1965 UK non-hit in fine clean condition. These early TMG’s are becoming hard to find.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 110.00 Collectors Soul Collectors Soul - Issue 1 Rare 1969 SOUL fanzine the FIRST of a short lived British SOUL magazine from Gloucester edited by A. R. Berry - I know of 9 issues there could have been more. This is bedroom Soul journalism at it’s most enthusiastic. Touching on the Twisted Wheel effect. With an introduction quoting all the most-wanted rare and deleted UK releases - every one a “Wheel Classic”. articles include: Temptations, Showstoppers, MOTOWN - looking Back, Alvin Cash & The Registers, Discotheque News - Current big tunes of 1969. and so much more including a list of UK Company re-issues to meet the demand created by the All-Night clubs etc. Incredibly rare - D.I.Y. 20 page stapled work of love…with quotes like “The main side of Darrell Banks new disc “Just Because Your That says it all….. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 45.00 Jaybirds The Right Kind C/w Somebody Help Me With the imminent closure of one of Britain’s iconic soul clubs it seems right to list a UK SUE 45. This one brings huge memories for me flooding back, as I cut my teeth on the rare-soul Nottingham’s BRIT Club offered up at the turn of the 60s decade. Not a word was spoken by the DJ’s just a steady rolling off of mid-blowing tunes. Al Kent - The Way You’ve Been Acting Lately, Jackie Edwards - I Feel So Bad, Jimmy McCracklin - The Walk, Spinners - She’s Gonna Love Me At Sundown, Len Barry - Somewhere - were all tunes I took home with me in my head to tide me over until the next Saturday.. eventually I owned all of them except one that eluded me for years and years. The Jay Birds take on the Spencer Davis classic with those exhilarating girls with chirping in over the horn driven instrumental i could not acquire. Even in those days SUE 45s were frustratingly elusive. “Somebody” of course was a monster Twisted Wheel tune, as well as Brit spin. But how about the otherside - “THE RIGHT KIND” is proper NORTHERN SOUL and in those days I never heard it played. Blaring Horns, down and dirty saxophone, Ramsey Lewis style piano work, Mike Terry-esque sax..and those lusty girls just do it for me..a real stompin’ instrumental! THE WHEEL IS CLOSING but this double-delight must live on - THE RIGHT KIND as a long overdue revival - and “SOMEBODY HELP ME” to ignite the memories of my a Soul Boys formative years .. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 159.00

Main Change Sunshine Is Her Way This Richard Searling’s MONSTER Wigan Casino cover-up came straight from a Connecticut collection - a 50s record collector, who as far as I can tell, never played it but once. Complete with the original lyric sheet and personnel listing. This 45 just screams MINT as close to perfect as you could ever wish to see 42 years after it’s release. Immediately after with lifted the storming sound-file , we encased it is a poly sleeve, so it will arrive with you PERFECT! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 461.00 Eddie Holland Jamie Condition freaks - you will not, as long as you live, witness a finer copy of this original 1961 USA album! Still retaining original shrink wrap, cover is perfect, as are the original first press “White & Red” logo labels, vinyl is an astonishing perfect, also. Without doubt my favourite Motown vocalist - he recorded far too few songs - check out the taster soundfile to witness his totally awesome and unique vocal. Legend has it, if it wasn’t for Eddie’s reluctance to sing on stage he would have become a huge star…Or was it Berry Gordy’s virtuosity that steered Marvin Gaye into teen-idol status and Eddie Holland to lyricist supremo. Listen, you like me will feel Motown deprived us far too early, of a truly great soul vocal. But you can capture this Motor-City-Magician forever with this album, in the type of condition vinyl-dreams are made of. Added bonus this LP includes the non-45 “Got To Have Your Love” killer NS dancer… Sorry, this item has already been won! Kings Of Soul Is Your Love For Me Prepare to be blown away! Just click the sound-file and ask yourself can your collection or indeed you live without this record at your fingertips.. The soundfile says it all - it’s rarity reputation is unquestionable.. The chance to own records of this calibre come so infrequently you just gotta act when they do. Awesome isn’t it… Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 2,864.00 The Loveseed Loveseed This uplifting feel-good dancer is a current Cover-up for both Soul Sam & Mike H. a stupidly RARE disc and so very, very good. One of only a few know copies, the other one sitting in a New York DJ collection - so all copies reside in illustrious homes. Take a listen to see why three world-renowned DJ’s have coveted this tune. It is an instant dancefloor pleaser, so darn obscure it was until very recently and unknown 45 - from I suspect Indianapolis - but the label credits are so vague I could well be wrong. Dog-Rare, perfectly produced Northern Soul you can see why the DJ’s wanted to keep it a secret. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 814.00 Magnificent 7 She's Called A Woman C/w Since You've Been Gone So Long For a moment let’s consider the extreme talents of Little Archie Himmons as his contribution to Northern Soul was quite considerable. First coming to the attention of the Twisted Wheel crew with one of his Dial sessions and only UK release on Atlantic “I Need You”. His other Dial session is currently very sought after, and his 45s for the 603 Eighth Avenue, Huntington,Va. Cabel label as the Parliaments are NS trophies to dream about. The Parliament on Symbol is now so rare it hurts.. His three Magnificent 7 45s are just something else again, Lemco issued his take on Marvin Gaye’s classic “Stubborn Kind Of Fellow” The Dial release for me the finest value for money 45 on the market “Never Will I Make My Baby Cry” backed with “Ooh Baby” offers real-deal harmony soul & Northern of the very highest calibre. This Lexington, Kentucky published disc, encapsulates everything this virtual Soul unknown stood for - the topside is relentless-rattling slab of Northern vocal-group Soul a potent dancer in the classic style of how NS used to be… Flipping it over your greeted by precisely distilled traumatic SOUL that will pierce your heart - listen and weep…then consider how much talent was actually require to break through to be a soul star in the 60s? Two sides to die for.. this copy is pristine and the rarely seen SILVER stock copy. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 211.00 Montereys It Hurts Me So A great way to start the New Year - currently being spun by a few lucky NS Dj’s.. is this Californian future monster. Every time I’ve spun this elusive disc, I’ve had hoard of collectors doing a Meerkat impressions to get the details. Instantly igniting smouldering dance-floor and pricking the vinyl-lust within the avid collector. This blue-eyed masterpiece certainly has the power to attract attention.. That is why DJ’s like Chris Morgan and myself are solidly behind it..and today I’m rather pleased to be able to offer a pristine copy for any other DJ who would like huge curiosity outside the DJ booth.. and frantic scurrying on the “floor” Sorry, this item has already been won! Holly Maxwell Don't Say You Love Me Until You Do Those sweet vocals of Holly Maxwell would echo around that hallowed temple of Rare Soul perched over the North Sea, taking the chill out of the air as this mid-tempo delight begged you to dance. Poke the iconic Cleethorpes Pier DJ was never one to follow the crowd, being the first jock to spin Rain - Out Of My Mind, perhaps followed by Calvin Grayson and somewhere in the set was Holly Maxwell, Herbert Hunter and preceded by some crazed FUNK 45 that no one had ever heard of. Poke never a DJ scared of an empty floor - because he knew he had the tools in his box to bring ‘em back. Holly Maxwell was just one of those tools - a record absolutely ripe for a huge turntable revival 36 years after Poke first “broke” it gently to The Pier personnel.. This is a beautiful example of Motown most covered Northern Soul offering. With B. J. Ike Noble Fresh Start A more expressive vocal would be hard to imagine - as Ike gets so soulful it hurts! an 8 track D.I.Y. masterpiece a perfect blend of upbeat dance grooves punctuated by aching-pleading soulful ballads and steppers of the highest calibre. It’s hard to pick out the stand-out tracks so we sound-filed all 8 for 30 seconds each - My fave is the LP only “I’m gonna miss your love” immerse yourself in the 50 second clip - an outrageously slab of ground-level soul. RARE in the extreme - soulful in the utmost sense… Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 99.00 Tony Bowens & The Soul Choppers Boilin' Water C/w Don't Be So Mean Records cannot get any more primitively obscure than naming the label the same as the artist, but then it is a 100% Tony Bowens family project, but after some digging the following information emerged: This 8 member band had standing room only performance in Hartford, Connecticut. You’d think from this double punchy example of their only recorded work they were seasoned professionals but the vast majority of the band attended Hartford High School when this killer was recorded. Tony Bowens - Sax, Lonnie Bowens - Bass, Diane Bowens - rhythm guitar, two trumpets were blown by Bob Witting & Glen Scott, Carl Colbert on the Drums, Eli Williams - lead guitar and Phil Andrews on the hammond. Excruciatingly RARE and so darn potent =- BOTH sides! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 62.00 Sissie Houston Bring Hm Back C/w World Of Broken Hearts Condition, Condition, Condition! Not only is this 45 the infinitely rarer RED STOCK copy it is also in the finest condition you could ever wish to meet. Sissie’s New York session with Doc Pomus & Mort Shuman motivates this Soul Diva right to the top of her game; with a topside of archetypical thumping Northern Soul, a femme-stomper that simultaneously rocked Wigan Casino & Cleethorpes Pier. But take time for the flipside - a Big City Beater of immense proportions. Cissie sounding very much like our “Dusty” slowly meanders through the opening lines, casually and masterfully ratcheting up the vocal, so slowly it takes you by surprise when she hits the crescendo.. and how!!! THIS IS BEAT BALLAD HEAVEN hidden away on the flipside of Proper-Northern-Soul… A Red-Ruby shimming in it’s Mint condition, easy on the eye and delivering the goods two times over.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 110.00 Carol Mogan I've Got Everything C/w I Know Where I Stand Seriously rare Chicago girl Northern Soul, showcasing another Windy City attempt to hitch a ride on Motown’s Mary Wells success.. The prolific Bobby Miller composes a beautiful mid-tempo floater carrying all the ingredients that proved successful for the aforementioned but Carol’s double-delight failed miserably in sales creating a very rarely seen Chicago NS rarity. Flip is over for a Billy Butler & Otis Leavill song that this little known lady tackles with sultry soulfulness aided by strong girl-group backing. Two Jackie Ross style beauties with both sides offering classy NS strollers of highest quality. Rarity? - utterly dog-rare… as you already knew. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 233.00

Demand for this 45 in the last 18 months has jumped from strong to overwhelming! A quick listen to the soundfile will reveal why; Top side is an utterly delicious slice of Sister-Crossover-Northern-Soul that will have you shuffling with delight, as Patty’s silky vocal is cradled by a male vocal group, presumably The Ascots, lending their skills for the day. As the boys also ignite the flipside, as Patty ratchets up the pace to deliver real-deal classic style Northern Soul.
