Luther Ingram If It's All The Same To You Babe C/w Exus Trek CONDITION IS EVERYTHING ! This is the message coming back to us from our most-discerning customers, who are determined to seek out the finest possible examples of classic top-end Northern Soul 45s. This is top-end, totally classic and we invite you to try and find a finer example than this, only minuscule signs of human contact, you could not dream of owning a finer copy. So near perfect! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 403.00 Otis Brown And The Delights Southside Chicago C/w I've Got Another Oh so very difficult to capture, is this delicious simplistic touch of genius from Otis Brown and his purring vocal-group friends The Delights. The elementary approach is the real attraction of this soulful beauty, the matter of fact lead vocal just strolls the "Southside"Â with the constant harmony chorus embroidering the session with layer after layer of PROPERWINDY CITY SOUL. Few collectors in the world can boast of even handling this record let alone owning one - rare and totally gorgeous. This copy has probably spent most of it's life on the Southside, there are surface marks but it plays superbly - sound file lifted directly off this disc. Light writing on flipside label. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 241.00 Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels Breakout...!!! - Stateside Album Stupidly RARE 1966 UK press in just immaculate condition, but also carrying a story. During the 60s every town in the UK had a pocket of MODS who religiously sought and collected the Soul played at clubs like The Twisted Wheel, Nite Owl, Mojo, etc etc. I personally joined that cult late in 1969, traveling to neighboring towns and cities seeking out anything to feed my hunger for "Soul-vinyl"Â Dave Owen one of the Grantham Soul Boys had amassed a wonderful collection whilst his window cleaning work took him to all corners of the town. Far too often I would encounter his rubber stamp D. W. Owen on those lovely smelling brown card-poly-lined singles covers. Jealous I was, he seemed to own or have owned everything worth having. Today Dave can still be seen at many Northern Soul events sporting his precisely polish brogues and meticulously ironed trousers & Fred Perry; and we'll talk about the good-old-days of Junk shop rummaging in Lincolnshire. Today this extremely rare 1966 UK MONO press has memory igniting D. W.OWEN stamp on back cover, otherwise this offering is beautiful 12 tracks display Mitch Ryder and team's passion for "Soul & R&B"Â which they spewed out with defiant attitude of an extreme level. Tracks inc: Walking The Dog, In The Midnight Hour, You Get Your Kicks, Stubborn Kind Of Fellow, Breakout, etc etc. Very, very tough to find!....unless you were a windowing cleaning MODin 1966 Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 66.00 Howard Wales Huxley's Howl Hammond Heaven! A jazzy funk experience with no obvious equals. For it's genre this is not only extremely problematic to capture but you'll find the hunt absolutely worthwhile. This gorgeous looker gives up the tightest, jazziest, horniest dancer you could ever wish to meet on the dance-floor. LOVE IT! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 111.00

Alexander Patton A Lil Lovin' Sometimes C/w No More Dreams Simply the greatest Northern Soul 45 ever issued in Britain during the 60s. Starting life as a flipside to rise up and become a Twisted Wheel anthem that still today still ignites a torrent of eager dancer to the floor when the needle drops and that dramatic intro booms in. Shiver inducing Northern Soul presented here as the 1966 British Capitol Discotheque series. PS do not overlooked the almost as magnificent flipside.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 247.00 Rudy Lambert Love Excruciatingly RARE Bay Area R&B Northern Soul Popcorn with a jazz injection from the Johnny Hartsman and gang. Mr. Hartsman was perhaps the most prolific Bay Area musician for black music during the late 50s & 60s. His name appears on Jazz, Soul, Blues Doo Wop and all manner of Bay creations. This example for the Northern Soul DJis, we have no doubt his very best and rarest offering. Click the explosive soundfile for an instant dancer to leap from the speakers and smack you right where it hurts! Moody, down & dirty groove with an inspired J.H. arrangement incorporating a rich tapestry of piano, guitar, flute& horns, expertly blended to accompany Ruby Lambert mysterious vocal style. It's a killer ain't it...every DJ should BE scrambling for ownership. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 212.00 Syl Johnson Do You Know What Love Is C/w The Love I Found In You We doubt this 45 has been played much more than once it it's lifetime! Condition other than one very light blemish this 45 is astonishing! So now we've established this may be the finest copy on the planet, let's talk about the music. Red label "20079"Â mix involving some of Chicago's most-prolific music-people, arranged & produced by Burgess Gardner aided by Chuck Bernard. A typically powerful Vee-Pea production that Syl Johnson's spirited vocal style fits snugly into the simplistic but contagious arrangement, punctuated by precise and very effective piano work. A much-loved Northern Soul anthem, like all Syl's offerings, so very soulful it's hard to tire of listening to such an expressive interpretation of lyrics he consistently gives up. But do not overlook the Carl Smith composition on the flipside, some tune this is, also. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 416.00 Sonny Fishback Heart Breaking Man C/w I Weon't Take Back These Words A New Yorker for rarest-of-the-rare! This is the CAMEO Publishing & KODEL MUSIC version. Wynder K. Frog Out Of The Frying Pan What were the hippest British MODS in 1968 listing to...some certainly were chattering they had heard, what was without question the finest British produced hammond album to date. Although as the USA United Artists release, owning this groundbreaking album is achievable. But as this STEREO 1968 original British release, this is an extremely elusive platter, indeed. This Lancashire Soul oriented gathering lead by Mick Weaver backed many Island artists on tour and studio Jackie Edwards, Traffic etc. In fact Mick replaced Stevie Winwood in the "Traffic"Â line-up such was his Hammond B3 organ reputation. Check out this 13 track rarity to witness 1968 Brit-R&B influenced instrumentals which of course includes "Green Door"Â + explosive non-45 dancers like "Willie And the Hand Jive"Â "Bad Eye"Â "High Heel Sneakers"Â etc. Pink Island label addicts will appreciate just how hard this lp is to acquire. Vinyl reveals only a few light surface marks in strong light, Laminate cover is free of tears, stains or writing. Front cover has a light crease top right (see scan). An historic landmark in the British appreciation & interpretation of R&B. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 60.00 Art Freeman Slippin' Around With You C/w I Can't Get Ou Out Of My Mind and how good-looking are you..! A beautiful Black stock copy sporting that iconic-arty multi-coloured FAMElogo. It's the only way for USA soul 45 gatherers to own it for more reasons that one. The white promo copy has been counterfeited in the vinyl format with awfully poor sound quality. This is an easily identified classic original Northern Soul 7"Â with an eye-catching stylish design. Play it out, like I did some weeks back within a Twisted Wheel or any oldies set, the power from the grooves is ear-shatteringly moving. What a potent-production, as Rick Hall gets his staff into top gear punching their full weight behind this Dan Penn & Linden Oldham masterpiece. So very classic dance-inducing Northern Soul in just immaculate condition.. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 118.00 Al Gardner Sweet Baby C/w I Can't Stand It This Detroit Northern Soul master-class will need little comment. For the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Northern Soul perfection freaks, this French 45 will have already caught your critical stare. So note the card picture sleeve re-order tag is still attached and secure, sleeve itself is flawless. Grease-proof inner sleeve is still wrapped around this near perfect disc - we doubt this package has had any more than a cursory play or two since the one-owner only collector purchased it back in 1970s. The highly descriptive back cover informs us Jack Ashford was on Piano &Tambourin, James Pavlack on Guitar, Mike Oposki on Bass, Al Gordon on drums & the Ebonies providing the background vocal choruses. Both sides of awesome Motor City Soul and the scan just says it all doesn't it! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 108.00

Third Guitar Featuring Eddie Holloway Baby Don't Cry C/w Don't Take Your Love From Me Dream condition for this rare Deep Funker of huge repute. Jack Taylor & Bob Gallo's New York label serviced the soul fan with all styles of our music and today stands as one of not only most-attractive in design but also output. Before you is the mighty Funker with a enviable rank as the labels most wanted release, clicking the sound-file unleashes a compelling hard-on Funk dancer. Flip it over, to once again hear Eddie Holloway in fine voice with an imploring Deep Soul crawl Otis himself would have been proud of. Two spectacular examples of two very-important soul genres on one very rare disc. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 211.00 Sandra Philips I Wish I Had Known C/w Hoping You'll Come Back Time to file away your Sandi Sheldon and take a long, long look at an outrageously good Northern Soul double hitter that has lived in the shadows of Sandi and friends for far too long. Consider these points - every inch as rare as any Okeh Northern Soul trophy you care to mention. Unlike all the others, this 45 has never been re-issued or bootlegged. So take a New York based Diva and introduce her to Detroit. Mike Terry offers up a Fred Bridges, Robert Eaton & Richard Knight Knight creation and produces it himself. The result is sooooooooooo fantastic, it beggars belief this has not long been considered a Northern Soul classic. Flip it over Mike Terry is still @ the controls, this time with a Ken Williams &Fred Sturm writing. M T again takes time and precision to guide Sandra's monumental vocal through BEAT BALLAD HEAVEN. To reiterate - two killers that have lived in the shadows of the over-played greats for far too long, don't you agree. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 315.00 Bessie Banks Go Now Universally recognized in England during the mid 60s as the ultimate record to finish the night with. That's why Dave Godin in 1968 was so eager to re-issue it very early on in the Soul City series. Before you today though, is a very different calibre of disc. This the 1964 UKRed Bird Demo, the ultimate representation of this timeless tune. Totally pristine condition throughout not even the compulsory "Pye"Â date stamp on the label. This is the finest copy I think I've ever encountered. Click the soundfile and enjoy a unforgettable Larry Banks & Milton Bennett composition, roared by a Soul-Diva that recorded far too few times. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 84.00 Willie Mabon Got To Have Some C/w Why Did It Happen To Me Rescued after sitting 38 years in a huge DJ box in an attic, years before that this 45 witnessed the coming and goings of the patrons of the notoriousBLIND BEGGARS PUB on Whitechapel Rd,London E1 1BU. This copy of one of SUE's least-seen 45's is PRISTINE - perfect labels and vinyl. It will arrive with you inside the sleeve it was filed in circa 1966. So you can sniff the history that surrounded this 7"Â and the burgeoning Soul Scene that came to life every weekend in most every club and pub during the 6Os in London. A historical 45 but more importantly a perfect copy and a darn hard # to secure in this Britain's most-wanted label. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 55.00

Shrill girl group, strings and softly prompting horns cradle Ms. Brown's plea lifting this session into a class all of it's own! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 459.00 Blues & Soul Blues & Soul # 15 December 1968 For whatever reason we're no quite sure - but this seems to be the very most-difficult to acquire in the A5 format series of first issues - underlined by the fact we have never ever had one for sale before. Joe Simon is front cover & main inside bio. Full center-page-spread black &white of Aretha Franklin. Chris Bartley bio by John E. Abbey. The Curtis Mayfield story + a unique and complete Jerry Butler discography to date 1968. Inside back cover is a full length black n' White of Dee Dee Warwick. Norma Jenkins His Love Is Amazing Original 1966 studio acetate only take of the Robert Bateman, Ronnie Moseley & Jimmy Wicks composition, we presume George Kerr is guiding Norma Jenkins's earth-shaking vocal through this superior meaty version. Intro drum-roll is joined by an acute echoing girl-group chorus rolling out a vibrant path for Norma to stride through. Wow this lady can sing, pitching her expressive vocal with a controlled back-of-the-throat with sex-appeal. Strong drum & girl-group drop down a pace in a midway break, that makes for perfect Northern Soul... UNIQUE ONE-OFF DISC - we are told. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 361.00 Vikki Styles The Teardrops Won't Stop Falling Vikki Williams & Reginald Hines project from Greensville, Mississppi draws from almost every note of the timeless Darrel Banks - Open The door To Your Heart - but managing to achieve it's own identity, through primitive horn work and Vikki Williams's open-wound vocal style. One of those local-creations that pierce your heart, as you imagine everyone involved in this low-budget session of pain, living in the hope of some reward. This is street-level Northern Soul at it's purest, blatant plagiarism of a magnificent classic and coming through with an irresistible testament of soulful-sorcery, all of it's own. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 513.00 Jimmy Helms Romeo And Juliet First played on the Northern Soul scene amazingly in the late 90s after two decades of concealment since it's failed release in 1974, and to this day still extremely hard to find. Jimmy exhibits all silky masculine vocal qualities that gave him a huge following from his Symbol & Oracle recordings. Like many soul artists in the early 70s England was an opportunity to relaunch soul acts careers, in 1972 Jimmy hit the charts @ # 8 with his wonderful UK crafted "Gonna Make You An Offer You Refuse"Â Johnny Worth his producer on that hit and this miserable-miss unwittingly created a a fabulous British production that Jimmy Helms's experienced vocal just slips into perfectly. Killer and rare UK produced Northern Soul in it's rarest form - an immaculate 1974 DEMO. Listen and melt.... Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 177.00 Willie Jones Where's My Money C/w Don't Leave Me Hey! Where's my money! Defiant, angry, potent and pleading slab of New York R&B from that prolificEMBEE team. A floor-shaker with few equals, pumping brass is soothed by a penetrative girls squealing away in the back, they are then joined by the guys in the room. Willie's acute vocal spits the lyrics perfectly, the horn players so nearly steal the show, until a crazed saxophonist jumps and tops the lot! Totally awesome R&B Northern Soul.....leaving you most probably out of breath so the flipside, more in keeping with the usual EMBEE creation is there to soothe you... E. Rodney Jones Peace Of Mind Rodney will exit your speakers like a rampaging herd of Rhino's! A vocal humming with all the authority decades of radio station DJing has bestowed upon him. Like a purring "Kojak" E. Rodney glides, then attacks the indomitable Monk Higgins arrangement. The marriage of Chicago's most-powerful voice and Monk's outrageously gutsy horns was made in Northern Soul heaven. For years this 45 has eluded most-all NS foragers, thus sitting on the cusp of discovery by the right NS Jock...at long last a few of us have simultaneously started to spin it out..and I can tell you, up close E. Rodney Jones is a floorshaker of unparalleled proportions. This late developer should be captured as soon as possible, it's rocketing on up; with a long, long way to go before it reach it's peak. E. In walk the girls, Pat Lewis, Louvain Demps Jackie Hicks (The Andantes) &September Jones. Herbie Williams & Johnny Allen are already there to add their vocal support. It's a day at the office for some of the Pied Piper team, preparing to cut 4 songs. They could not have known that autumn day 3750 miles away across the Atlantic youngsters were at there school-desks preparing for life. That 8 years later would perhaps land them inside an English all Night-Soul-Club dancing spellbound to any these two sounds, and perhaps wondering like did, who on earth could have created such a mesmerizing style of SOUL. The PIED PIPER team that's who! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 359.00 Majestics (i Love Here So Much) It Hurts Me A record that hardly needs any introduction from me or anyone else. April Stevens Wanting You Scanners hate reds & pinks, I can assure you this 1967 UK DEMO is a brilliant pink adorned with a large shiny silver "A" looking just far too alluring inside it's original jacket. The scan fails to capture the glorious label colouring but sitting in my hands, it is a goose-pimple inducing beauty. Why this Los Angeles creation was relegated to a flip is a mystery but underlines an example of the Northern Soul pioneers discovering yet another unappreciated 60s masterpiece. Simultaneously a monster tune at every Northern Soul club throughout the 70s. Now considered a true NS hall-of-fame classic, welcomed with back-drops and spins whenever revived in sets today. Much-loved tune, that in this form is a much-admired and highly desired British trophy and condition is immaculate in every way. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 145.00 Moments You Said C/w Hey Boy Yes, the highly sought-after seldom seen press with the exceptional flipside "Hey Boy" An explosive Brooklyn New York girl-group Northern Soul dancer, drawing influences from Motown and Phil Spector in equal amounts delivering fine Northern Soul lead by a vocal of street-level innocence. Setting this apart as a stand alone girl-dancer with irrepressible qualities. Flip side (only on this release) ratchets the session up a notch, the pace quickens to stomping level but retains the shrill lead vocal supported but her vivacious girlfriends in the background. Two truly super girl-group Northern Soul dancers on one disc, and in the flawless condition with both labels and vinyl spotless. Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 713.00 Kim Weston Helpless The finest condition copy I've encountered in memory. Red & White glory in it's most desirable form. Bobby & The Inkeepers World Of Fantasy C/w A Change Is Gonna Come So very seriously RARE!! The Seattle born obscurity apparently got some plays during the "Stafford" era of Northern Soul but this is only the second copy we've encountered in the last 40 years. The last copy we had some years back went straight in a well respected collector/Dj's collection. So how pleased are we to crate-dig another copy into the market place. Bobby's gritty vocal drags the depths of his soul to deliver a fine vocal performance woven into an unusual, extremely haunting arrangement incorporating a purring vocal-group, intricate guitar riffs lifted by horns serving up a riveting slab of North West Northern Soul! So different and so RARE! Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 127.00 Cloudburst Speciality Item C/w Next Time South-West Michigan vocal group rarity, offering two fine but totally contrasting sides. Top side is a guitar and string driven dancer, smoothed by Cloudburst's slick lead vocal, supported by well-versed girl-group chorus. Choppy, changing arrangement flows effortlessly along, crafting a compelling street-level soulful dance tune. Flip it for a truly superb down-tempo vocal-harmony stroller. Fine violin work opens the proceedings, weaving the fabric for that finely tuned lead vocal to really prove his worth with a flawless canter through the arrangement. Highlight after highlight as the recordings proceeds, the whining violin adds depth, an intricate guitar break give pause for breath, then the delicious lead vocal returns, even more expressive than before. TOP CLASS example of it's genre. Only a handful of copies know and so very difficult to acquire. Sorry, this item has already been won! Head of all the instrumentation on the now legendary British debut tour in 1964, his sextet ensured the Motown artists had exactly the right backing for the song. That was the inspiration to release this instrumental album, showcasing not just straight backing tracks, but this talented 34 year old's own interpretation of the sound, with his hammond organ singing a mighty tune in place of the usual vocalists. This is only the 13th. album release by EMI on this then fledgling label, presenting the Motown tour theme tune of "All For You" and a myriad of other sensational versions of Motown dance hits. This album is very hard to find, but not impossible if your not fussy about condition. If you however, demand your albums to be as pristine as possible, this offering is as close as your ever likely to witness. FRONT COVER reveal only minimal signs of handling, NO tears, stains, laminate veins or lift, only minuscule light crease towards the spine, hard to see on the scan and insignificant. Jeanie Tracy Making New Friends C/w Trippin' On The Sounds BROWN DOOR RECORDS the home of 70s Soul/Jazz excellence! Despite the extravagant quality of it's product, sadly Brown Door was a short-lived label. But whilst in business Marvin Holmes's label provided the rare soul collector with a handful of pure-gems, every one crafted to the nth degree of distinction. Before you today is the crown-jewel from that Oakland Odyssey in the standard of condition you would have expected to emerge from 1975 mailing from Daly City Bob, the man who first shipped this label to our shores. This 45 is no exception; perhaps the least seen, most wanted and most highly valued of all EMBEE's accomplishments. Roland "Don" Trone and Claude "Juan" Johnson with their very last recording together, saving their best until last. Click the soundfile to collide with tsunami of brass, then Righteous-Brothers-like the two vocals soar up above all instruments, and just keep climbing &climbing. Step aside all other duo's, these guys were another class! As were EMBEE productions... Sorry, this item has already been won! The winning bid was £ 311.00 Bobby Wells Be's That Way Sometimes C/w Recipe For Love Currently top-lady DJ, DivaDJdi's favourite Northern Soul revival spin, she must be having a countrywide effect, because I heard another DJ spin this great tune again last Saturday night. After years of being a dormant-NS-classic this is coming back with a bang and absolutely deservedly so. A Philadelphia vibe filled 1966 dancer just ripples it way around the room spreading it's Leon Mitchell feel-good factor. The result was a packed dancefloor... So if you fancy a little one-up-Manship (no pun intended) how about spinning this 1978 UNIQUE 10" RCA studio direct-cut acetate. An eyebrow raiser we think, and a perfect way to make a woman jealous. Sorry, this item has already been won! Isley Brothers Shout ! Album collectors let's get serious. A flawless 1959 UK press in STEREO!! Vinyl is totally immaculate, original STEREO text poly-lined inner sleeve is perfect as are both the label. Cover under strict scrutiny reveals only the light signs of handling. The high quality laminated cover is so near perfect also. NO writing, stains, tears or laminate veins or lift.
