Yes, there is a big difference,but if you dont get it, you dont get it I suppose, plus I just dont get the same feeling when listening to a modern type tune, but as pete sez, we are doing this > by trying to explain what a 60s tune has that most 70s tunes dont Bazza

Of course it is..no doubt...and you know many of the folks that say they dont like R&B...will be on the floor dancing to it without realizing it is what it is ...My misses for one..she sez she dont like it, when she comes off the floor after dancing to it ,I will say thats a nice R&B tune,,she'll argue no its is'nt no it is'nt ,so I say "ok duck ,no it is'nt " just to keep her happy gimme me R&B Bazza

I must admit if this happened to me (not that I DJ anymore) I would go ballistic and thump the offender on the spot..I dont know James or Rob..and I understand how James felt but he did go to far..the chap probably played the tune on the recomendation of this Rob chap in good faith ,to embarress him like that is really not on as for the boots v orignal.we know its been done to death on here its ok to play some but not others ? its ok to play a carver if you have the original locked up in a safe some where...? its a very grey area and there is no real answer to it Bazza

The Platters did a version of this tune "my name aint Annie" mid to slow tempo R&B.."my name is Annie - Anne Belle Ceasar" is an uptempo R&B tune ..both great tunes by the way Bazza

For me it would have to be Edwin Starr...Many of the names mentioned came and went ,but Edwin Stayed with us untill the day he passed on..a true gent and a great embassador for this scene of ours..still missed, a great man Bazza

100 mph All night you must be Joking...I would be well peed off..why is it then if thats the case, do the 2 and 3 room nighters do so well.....could it be some folk dont want 100mph all night get a grip some of ya, if the DJ knows his stuff he will keep the place moving..playing tunes to suit everybody's taste Bazza looks to me like some folks are stuck in a time loop 35 years ago....

Mark, I think we all feel the same from time to time..but we went out to Annesley soul club Saturday had a fantastic night out.....and now Im all enthused again...think I made that word up..but you know what I mean...got to be positive about it Bazza
