  1. what worries me is..if every one did pack in smoking, the tax the government would lose..must be about £4.80 on a packet of fags these days....they would have to recoup the losses somehow .suppose they would then put it on the price of petrol...they have us by the short and curlies Bazza
  2. Well ,I find myself in total agreement with you again Pete...............very worrying Bazza

  7. Mel.....what a person likes or dislikes is a personal thing , you very often can't put your finger on why you like a tune....I realize this because I can say to the misses "love this tune" she might think its tripe......why ?? who knows, if some one likes a tune I think is crap...I wont argue....I say its just not to my taste..thats it end of it Bazza
  8. there are many first rate vocals on thousands of tunes ......sadly none of em are in the Carstairs Bazza

  12. What a shame Dennis ,Damon ,and Otis, could not be together, they would be the closest thing to the original temptations we could hope for, very sad I think .I would love to shake Otis's hand Bazza

  15. I dont like this practice....very often as many are moving off the floor I am moving on to the floor , only to have the tune cut off.....very anoying, and it does'nt mean its a bad tune ,the Vondells for instance love to hear it ....But can't dance to it Bazza
  16. Love this...just about the best Falcons track.I recone Dont collect anymore ,but if I did I would snatch yer hand off Bazza

  18. I expected folks in there mid 40's to say the 80's,and those ..erm more mature types to say early 70's you've buggered that idea up Malc Bazza
  19. Seen this phrase a lot just lately....some say the 80's But to me 69 to 74 were my "heydays", I suppose its cos that was when it was new and exciting, and I was in my prime or youth ,todays scene is very different to the old days..for many reasons...some good some not so good.. Many complain about the number of venues,I think that will eventually turn out to be a good thing ...the good ones will survive....some others may not..but the choice is there at the moment...modern,oldies,100mph ,R&B..its all there for the taking...better that than just a few tired out old do's. todays scene is very healthy I recone Bazza
  20. I agree with this Moggy..I was born in 1955...if you went to a "disco" you heard Soul,it was just what they were playing in the Notts areas....just progressed from there..btw I like a bit of "Swing" me sen Bazza
  21. Talc,I've never used it ,even in the old days,My style of dance was a sort of Skip and float around the floor heel toe heel toe in rubber soled shoes..very energetic ,I needed all the grip I could get, these days tho' more of a shuffler,so now I use leather soled brogues..still dont use talc..the big problem tho' in leather shoes is if you stray on to some talc....its like ice skating I dont complain ..its always been a part of the scene...you just have to be carefull around it Bazza
  22. Nowt Wrong with that tune....I like it Bazza
  23. Sounds a bit messy to me...not my cup a tea Bazza
