I was at the half time orange club in liecester,sometime last year and the DJ,might have been Ginger,introduced the tune as "Don Gardner - fool to fool ",I dont know if it is Don tho', Don and shep did have a time on the same lable, So I have been told Bazza

Chicano Power - thee midniters - 13446 refosoul One of my faves (more or less an instrumental) never hear it out tho' Bazza

Nothing wrong with instrumentals,but what I dont like are instrumental versions of well known vocal tunes,very off putting I think,when your on the floor ,intro then when you expect the vocals..........nothing,puts me off my step,no need for em ,notice Vincent plays a lot of em,not my cup a tea tho' Bazza

Hi Jim,I know what your saying,I was a nottm lad,used to go to brit about 34 odd years ago ,went a few month ago dont think its changed in all these years, used to go to the the usual places in nottm. both Pete and Steve know me at annesley,just ask em who bazza is off soulsource,they should point me out cya saturday Bazza

No argument from me about same old stuff,I agree,but rather than slag anywhere off, I go elsewhere,try different places,there are places that do play a good mixture of tunes,I dont like some Venues ,but love others ,you just got to find the ones you like and not bother with the ones your not keen on,the social side is a big part of it to me,I just can not stay on the floor all night ,the tone of your post suggests That I am wrong because I enjoy the social side,that is what I disagree with Bazza

I enjoy the social side of it ,I like to have a drink and a chat and a laugh,some of us are in our 50's,I get on the floor love a dance, but I cant do it all night,Is there something wrong with that. I like to hear the classics the rare and R&B and a touch of modern,I think you are talking a bit of bollox here Bazza

Well ,I dunno where you go,I dont know of one Venue in the Notts Mansfield Sheffield area's that play CD's,I admit some of the oldies only 100mph do's are not to my taste, but as you say there is usually a couple of places on a friday and saturday with in say 30 miles to go at ,although some of em have got a bit same old same old. I know you said you are going to annesley this week end,I always find that do' to be a breath of fresh air,are there any do's that you do favour I wonder,i'd like to know Bazza

Yes there is truth in what your saying,many places are same old same old,but some are trying to be different for instance Annersley pilsley attic try these you may be surprised at what you find you did come across a little confusing at first Bazza

Having thought about it,I prefare to remember them the way they were when they made the tunes,I find it a bit sad to see them as they are now. I dont suppose thats very nice really ,but it is how I feel Bazza

No Glyn,usually,as you know if the floor is full then every one is happy,but I have been to venues were more people stand or sit around than Dance,thats when it gets difficult to judge what is happening,I would never try and tell you how to do it,but I do know there is more to being a good DJ than just playing records,I could never do it,if I like a tune I expect every one else to like it,and can't understand it if they dont like it,but as the wife keeps telling me just cos I like it does'nt mean every one else should like it cya soon Glyn Bazza
