Residents are Baz, John & Jona, the music starts when the doors open at 7.15pm and if you need a table, they get snapped up pretty fast. You can expect a variety of quality soul music, from the 60’s & 70’s, right up to more modern times and we add just a pinch of Northern Soul to keep you in the mood. so come down and see for yourself, just how good it is.

We have top quality guests every Month and to compliment them we also have three great resident DJs, Baz, John & Jona who will endeavour to keep the dance floor busy and thoroughly entertain you all evening long. This Month we have two fabulous guest DJs for you, Dean Penford & Steve Lydon, both from Mansfield’s “The Attic Soul Club”. I’m sure you will agree, they will have some awesome records to play for us and probably be broadening our soul knowledge a little further too.

Special Guest for June is always welcome through our doors, it’s Cathy C. I’m sure we will be in awe of her playlist and hope the dance floor is packed for every tune. So come down and see how good it really is.

Sorry for the confusion guys, but Martin Stanford can’t make it this month and our good friend Kev Greenwood has kindly offered to step in and help us out. So come down and see how good it really is.

We always have top quality guests every Month, to compliment our three great resident DJs, Baz, John & Jona, who always endeavour to keep the dance floor busy and thoroughly entertain you all evening long. This Month we see the return of our old friend Rob Smith, who has some of the finest sounds you could wish for. (Also Rob will have a few records to sell too, so bring some spare cash if you want any). So come on down and see for yourself, just how good it is.

It’s been a while since I’ve been out on a NYE and I’m so looking forward to playing a few here with the guys.

Let’s give a warm welcome return for Sam & John, two of the best “floor filling” DJs in Notts. Playing Top Quality Music, with a fabulous sound system and a well kept maple sprung dance-floor, equals a good night to be had (no talc required). See you there.

“Saturday December 3rd” Hi folks please keep this date free in your diaries, because after the rip roaring success of the last one in September, we’ve been convinced to hold another “Charity Disco Night” on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, at Rainworth Welfare from 7.30pm onwards. Martin, Baz & myself will be entertaining you with all your favourite tunes, from the 60’s right through to the more modern era and we will be holding a silent raffle around 11pm, so as not to disturb the music. Please come along and support us, have a drink or two and dance the night away.

Not sure if John explained to you Graham, but there’s three of us at SFSC. See you later. Regards. Jona

Last night was one of our best Soul nights ever, close to maximum attendance (that’s why we recommend to come early if you can) the dance floor was full all night, plenty of variety and quality Soul Music and our guest DJ Martin was on top form too. Looking forward to our Northern Soul night in two weeks, when we welcome for the first time Mr Ted Massey. Come down to see how good it really is. might interested please ask to join our Facebook group Sherwood Forest Soul Club. Cheers, see you there

So I’m more confused than before this thread started, I now understand the pink issue was pressed on or around 1967 in Detroit. But was it before, or after the yellow copies? Do Pameline demo’s, or Palmer issues exist? I’ve never seen either, (unless someone can provide a scan please) Why didn’t Popcorn sue Vault records for the unlicensed releases (on Vault & Vocalion) Here’s another possible timeline suggestion, (please don’t shoot me down for trying): 1967. Palmer Demo was the 1st, for the promotion of it and sent out to Radio Stations etc. ( I don’t know if any Palmer issues were ever made). Contract terminated with Palmer records and plates recovered by Popcorn, so the record was then released on his own label (Yellow Pameline 100) possibly using the same plates (would explain why the Palmer plate numbers were on the Pameline yellow copies only). A 2nd run on Pink Pameline 200 (possibly from new plates, maybe why the Palmer numbers aren’t on these copies?). Late 1967-1968. Agreement with Popcorn & Vault records to distribute Nationally, but he never received anything from them, so they were stopped. Also Vault continued and sold the licence to Vocalion in the UK and kept the proceeds, making Vault & Vocalion unofficial releases. Please fill in any gaps I may have missed thanks

Has anyone found out yet? It’s been a while and thought I’d revisit this page. Also, is there any scans of the black issue, or were there only demo’s made?

Hi can anyone confirm whether the original has a "Nashville matrix" stamp, as per Manships new book please. I have just purchased a vinyl WLP larger title than artist, label is well worn, but plays great. Thanks
