  1. I'm in the same camp as you Martyn - not really into gospel as a rule but the more I hear - predominately from listening to among others, Greg Belson's podcasts - the more I like. I have the Shirely Caesar which being cheap and accessible, every home should own and picked up a copy of "Power of your Love" by Spirit of Love earlier this year. I also had the Soul Salem Travelers LP arrive yesterday with "Walk in the Sunshine" on it....another GB tip for 2016! Unfortunately I can't find a youtube link to post up and have to go an wrap some prezzies now but will try and post a link once the Crimbo madness has subsided Merry Christmas to all! Darren

  8. I thought that too when I saw the scans. My issue is vinyl....just checked.
  9. What a great introduction. No wonder you got hooked I first heard it mid-80s and loved it ever since... I always assumed the issue was the rarer as more WDs seem to be offered for sale but looking back on popsike it was roughly 50/50. I have the issue myself and would never part with it.
  10. Seeing a White Demo copy of this up for sale today got me wondering if anyone could tell me which is the rarer format - is it the issue or the demo and is there any difference in the value? Many thanks in advance, Darren
  11. Another one I sold when needs must...doh Jake Wade & the Soul Searchers - Searching for soul
  12. A deep funk fave of mine. Love the kitchen sink production, the hammond featuring loud and proud and the bit where the bass player forgets which notes to play and just thrashes it Alas had to recycle my copy some time ago to buy more soul tunes....wish I'd kept it Reggie Saddler Revue - Raggedy Bag
  13. Everyone knows it of course but an absolute breakbeat winner to this day...was a regular spin during at many a rare groove do in the late 80s early 90s down south (Bas clef/Blue Note)....and probably everywhere else to be fair

  18. Agree it does seem strange especially considering the amount of times I take my kids to quarter full cinemas. Having said that Empire Basildon has picked it up which is a godsend as the ourscreen viewing in Stratford for Friday I planned to go to didn't get enough punters! I just checked and Baz empire is now sold out for Friday night - anyone on here going? Can't wait ;-) Although I'll be back there again Saturday for the boxtrolls :-)
