  2. tried to get sounds to work but failed. DOH! I'll try later. Another 12 which I was told is scarce but again not too sure. Probably loads in London. Holly Canada - You been mean to me - Funhouse. 1995 out of Greensboro NC. Mellow street soul tune. Was big in the MCR clubs but I was told most of the DJ's played the cd. Cheers Phil
  3. Hi Paul Thanks for the info. I'll keep it safe Cheers Phil
  4. hi all i think this may be an early commercial 12". Not exactly the pinical of soul but Frankie Valli - Swearin' to God - Private Stock. Its a 1975 recording but was probably released in 76 as the b side is from that year. I'm far too young to know when exactly it was released. I have this nagging thought that I have heard or seen this mentioned for some reason. Cheers Phil
  5. Hi All Great thread. I was going to post up photos of James King on Pyramid but my digital camera keeps saying batteries dead even though just put new ones in.DOH! I got the James King a good few years ago off Rod Shard. Although nice little story about finding it. I think it was my second trip to states that Alex Jones found it in Memphis after we spent about 3 days doing a warehouse full of 12"s. I think we bought about 20 u-haul boxes full of 12"s(only 1 James King) from there. So it was nice to eventually get it as i wouldn't have minded keeping it then. Another one I got from Rod years ago is Vicki - I need some Love on Pun-N-Tane Records. 1984. I'll try and post up a clip. Bit remenisent of Heartbeat - Taana Gardner. Is it anything? I don't know much about it and have never seen another.(But I ain't looked that hard.) I'll try and sort some scans and clips Cheers Phil

  8. First original I think - Rex Garvin - Sock it to 'em jb on Like off Dave Withers stall when still at school poss 1984/85. First northern soul record Keepin The Faith LP a year or so before that possibly - I think i'll have to credit Barnsey for getting me into Northern at school. Cheers Phil
  9. Thanks for the info. I do remember seeing the 45's as The Lost Weekend but got to admit can't remember what they were like. (was a few years ago) Hopefully someone might have info on the LP - if it ever came out. Cheers Phil
  10. Hope someone out there can help. I have the 7" we can make it (pt1) and (pt2) on Lost weekend. Not that hard to get. It refers to an LP - does anyone have a copy? Seen a copy? Does anyone have any other records by General Lee? If any for sale even better. I've looked for quite a few years for the LP but never seen one. Perhaps I ain't looked hard enough. All info appreciated. Thanks in advance Cheers Phil
