  1. totally agree its a blues record. I don't mind it but its not realy a soul record. some probably went for it just because it was a bit different.
  2. let me guess the reason. Is it buying up cheap copies to sell when you've created some demand. well spotted with the speling mistake ernie, my typing skills are not the best.
  3. cheap c/u's are just a bit of harmless fun.
  4. crikey you have given this some serious thought. I wouldn't want to sell you a c/u you might come after me with a layer
  5. offcourse it is my mistake.
  6. a wise investment may be john manships latest price guide and his latest bootleg guide. At raresoulman.co.uk thet are well worth buying. when you get realy good at this game you will even know which are priced wrong in the guide and the prices for records that aren't even in the guide.
  7. Boots are unofficial illegal copies of records. Some are deliberatly meant to decieve by being very similar to the legitimate original release and some are on very different labels and don't deceive.
  8. one good night out over x-mas and i'd have lost all these great tracks. I don't know what I was thinking.
  9. yes you guys are right. sod it i'm withdrawing these from sale. I don't need 90 quid that much.

this record was in and out of my house so fast I forgot to flip it......
  11. yes it could be wise spening 6 months or a year learning before spending you could end up with a box of stuff that is never going to give you a return. I guess all collectors learn the hard way when starting out but its quite late in the day now to be spending money on boots.

I would recommend buying a good selection of the CDs that ady puts out on ace / kent. There is a fantastic selection for all styles of soul music.

this realy is a brilliant label with something for everybody. williams and watson "too late" one of the first tracks that got me into northern. Out and out stomper of real quality and a thumping bass line. actually just revisiting the vol 1 CD comp in the car just now and the tracks sound great having not listened to them for years.

  25. I like the goldmine system and thats what I think everybody should use. I feel more confident with the goldmine descriptions of what to expect when i'm dealing with US sellers (or Japanese) there are exceptions in the UK not all overgrade. I also know if I were to list a record as vg its less likely to sell even though it may play well and look pretty good.
