Bridlington Northern Soul Weekender #14 rolled over !
until
A word of advice to anyone travelling to the Bridlington Weekender from West and South Yorkshire and anywhere south - avoid the M62 East bound as J37 Howden is closed and long tail backs of traffic most days. the same goes for anyone using the M18 which joins M62. Best route is via M1 to A64 York and through Stamford Bridge, usually only a short wait at the bridge then to Bridlington. Could be wasting valuable dancing time sat in a queue on M62. -
Outwood’s Got Soul at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
We enjoyed our night very much. A good first night I would think, attracted quite a few regulars on the soul scene. Good selection of music played by three hard working DJs, one of whom was also an excellent dancer. It was a bit cold but then temperature outside was only a couple of degrees above freezing... Heard people commenting about the bar prices but doubt that could be helped. It was a bit hard to find, drove past it twice but got there eventually. If you do another night there we would probably come again.

Seaside soul at floral hall
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and playing my selection of tunes. Come early, we open at 7, and hear some amazing tunes from Kai Rivers in the first hour and he is guaranteed to have you going home exhausted and buzzing after his closing set 11pm until midnight. That excellent DJ Steve Hutson is on from 9.30pm until 11pm so don't miss his set either. See you all there!

The Impacts - Pigtails in her hair
Thanks very much both of you for your imput. Mystery solved.

The Impacts - Pigtails in her hair
That looks like being the one Trev Thomas. So it did exist. Did it never come out as an issue copy?
-
The Impacts - Pigtails in her hair
Thanks for that. Same song but Timothy Wilson version is much faster than the one I am looking for which is slower and mellow.

The Impacts - Pigtails in her hair
Found this on an old cd I was given in 2007, don't know who by, and have been looking for the song .Only Impacts on Discogs are a surfing band so not them. Can anyone throw a light on this song please. Maybe artist is wrong or the title. Thanks.

Is this the locally famous BUB?
Thanks for replies. Even with the writing on the label it is still going for a high price.

Is this the locally famous BUB?
I have recently bought a copy of The Supremes - I Want A Guy and whilst researching its value I came across John Manship selling a copy with the letters BuB on the B side. Does anyone in the Barnsley area know if this might be one of The Mighty Bub's record?

Robert Thomas - Salvation
Thank you everyone for your replies. Ady thanks for the offer but still a bit beyond my finances, the wife would be far from pleased, to put it mildly, if she thought I had paid that much for a record. I wanted to buy it for her as a surprise and I know she particularly likes the two slower breaks in the song so that is why I was asking if the represses are the same song. I can't seem to get to hear a sound bite of the pastel green copy, always comes up with the yellow original. Can anyone put one on here for me please.

Robert Thomas - Salvation
I am wanting to buy a copy of Salvation but finances do not allow me to pay nearly £200 for any of the ones currently for sale on various sites. However I have been doing research on the internet and have found copies of the 70's re-press. What I need to know is if the Robert Thomas and Six Feet Under is exactly the same song as the original or a remix as Six Feet Under are not mentioned on the original. Also what would be a reasonable price to pay for a re-press? Any information welcome

Thank you very much to every one who has replied, not being able to name it was really bugging me.

Tragic Magic
Please can anyone help me identify a song heard last night at Mexborough Athletic soul night. The lyrics sound like ' some people say it's tragic, I think it's magic'. It has a slow beginning then picks up. I know I have heard it played out before but not very often. it is probably well known to everyone on Soul Source but eluding me at the moment. Thanks John
