  1. Oooh closet Blockhead - well in lad. Love TV - sits in my memory banks alongside Derek & Ray, Doris Troy, Paula Parfitt, Michael McDonald, The Ad Libs, Paula Durante, Paul Anka, The Righteous Bros, Peggy March etc etc - a schoolboy with a hidden cache of tracks that the other kids neither knew or understood. Just been reading that Teddy was co-writer on Vandross' 'Power Of Love' album too.

On the back of that, Williams and Watson - "I don't need no woman to help me starve to death!"
  3. Could I have been in M's Steve, as I can't remember - pray tell mate.

Chuck Jackson - 'Talk A Little Less'....not very nice at all.
  5. No mate, nowt to do with the post, I just have no idea where I am?
  6. Have fun.
  7. That Lenny Welch's bird picked a fine time, didn't she?
  8. He also vowed to 'keep some fine rags on her back!' - but did he, did he?
  9. Well spotted fella.
  10. God no Peter. I think you are doing a sterling job of tracking down a possibly lost moment in time mate - and nice for me that I remember that moment. Keep at it mate.
  11. Christ! The tension!
  12. I stand corrected (maybe).
  13. I'm just struggling with the Scottish flag bit - my spot at Wigan, under the staircase on the right hand side put me right underneath where it was hung, so I'm opting out now, I've put my two penneth in and I'll leave it to the real investigators.

  15. L.J. Johnson - I loved it.
  16. Have I read this thread correctly or am I just going off on one?
  17. As I said earlier, I always had it in my mind that the banner was aimed at Richard not Sam as it, in my mind, was thrown over the balcony just before Richard came on. I remember it to be '81, which if it was, would prove it.
  18. The track knitted in quite well at the time as a lot of Modern stuff being played was from major labels, albums as well as 12" and was played at Leicester, Hinckley, Rotherham etc by many different jocks. It was a floor-filler.
  19. Aaaaaah, so the Scottish flag was just there to throw us off the scent that night then was it Steve? Got ya!!
  20. As far as I remember it seemed to be more aimed at Richard than Sam, as I remember the (Scots?) lads that unveiled it over the balcony did so at the beginning of Searlings set about 2-3am.
  21. I've just placed a post on the 'Casanova' thread about the particular night this banner was hurled over the balcony - the banner was basically a Scottish flag with lettering stitched over it. So start with the Scots lads.
  22. I was there that night, Searling came on, looked at the banner (the lettering was over a Scottish flag) which was hung over the balcony to his left and before playing his opening track, said: "The only good thing about that banner is that it's in Spurs colours."
