In the late 90s I was in Toys’R’Us in Romford and Linda Griner ‘Goodbye Cruel Love’ came on via the store tannoy!!!! There was a young girl up a ladder stocking the shelves singing away! I had to ask her and she said one of the store managers was a soul fan and made up tapes from them to play in store. I heard a Bobby Womack song later in too.

Royal Mail refusing to honour insurance - thoughts/advice?
Paul Capon replied to Paraboliccurve's topic in All About the SOUL
The problem I’ve had is Royal Mail demand proof of value not the sales price. How many of us have receipts for every records you own….. In all the years I’ve only had to make 5 or 6 claims. The most recent was a few weeks ago for a £5.50 George Benson 45 that never arrived. I refunded the buyer and made a claim on principle rather than for the money and to RM’s credit they sent me a cheque inc postage. -
Discrepencies on recordings that shouldn't be there
Paul Capon replied to Chalky's topic in All About the SOUL
Not an external noise but once you hear this you can’t miss it. On Sideshow ‘Sexy Lady’ - MUSCADINE 45 the lead vocalist Arthur Ponder comes in too early at 2 mins 25secs after the instrumental break. He then sheepishly trails off and comes back in when he is supposed to at 02:44. Makes me smile anyway! -
Aaarrrrgggghhh !!! Thanks
