Ok - let’s start 2024 with a few nice things for today Chet Davenport I cant get over you Toeholt Records £200 Superb modern soul - very slightly different take of the same track by Traffic Jam on the same label (Chet was the lead singer anyway). Really kicks after the intro! M- Jokers Y-ilde Nothing But A Party / Very Special Love Gold Spill £100 Vinyl has some marks. Plays strong with the occasional pop and background crackle. Nothing major - no sustained ticks or anything nasty. VG Geraldine Curry And The Heartstoppers You're So Wonderful London House Records £80 classic mid-paced northern dancer. M- Creators I Can't Believe It's True (Where Did Our Love Go) Coconut Records £70 Condition is G only. The record plays through with out jumps etc but does have a lot of crackles - particularly in the first half of the record. It may benefit from a deep clean. Very rare crossover soul Good (G) Kent Drake Boss Thing Together Wand £65 Wow - this is the kind of record that got me into soul music. 3 mins of mid-tempo soul brilliance.
