loved 'em both back in the early 80s but now....... i still enjoy them in me car, great steering wheel tappers but somewhat of a waste of a 'window' that could be filled with something not so tried and tired when i'm out, if you get me meaning.
  3. northern soul incorperated - something keeps calling me back, could have been polydor, not sure but i am sure ken cox of the old EASC had something to do with it. what about 5 and a penny - you don't know where your interest lies, was that kosha or another coxy production?
  4. but what a tune guys, see more paid for thunes that (imo) suck like a turbo chareged hoover!! if pricing was based on pure quality of a tune then........ oh well, let's not go there.
  5. excellent, and if i had one i'd be spinning it too.
  6. pete stone has been known to play it out at the Casablanca in Grimsby upon request (and it DOES get plenty of requests, being near cleethorpes and all)
  7. not as poppy-popular as the flasher but LIASWS was as much a floor filler in it's day as the Brothers was, central hall kettering, cleggy, wirrina and all points between.
  8. can any one help me as to what i should offer for DR for the Big Foot - I apologise on sue international? and was it ever a 7 incher, if so how much again please. to be pre-warned is to be pre-armed It's on his modern-crossover podcast site but no prices. Also the Viola Wills track. https://daveraistrick.mypodcast.com/index.html
  9. is it just me who thinks it's not even worth the newspaper it's wrapped in with the imitation 70's chinese kung-fu type intro, my, my. ain't his fault, if there are peeps willing to pay the money then where's the problem? if they bought it because they like it and can afford and are willing to pay the pennies then end of, no rip off. voting labour and expecting socialists now THAT'S a rip off

Local newspaper has just published the results of a recent survey. Residents of Skegness were asked what they would like to replace the two recent sets of sea front buildings (including the Peg) that have burnt down. The result was unanimous...... A FIRE STATION!!!!!

thanks harry, ken and the york guys. we're all a bit gutted because the peg was growing in reputation all the time but IF we find a new venue we'll take with us the attitude and open door/music policies that made the peg what it was,

a few people were asking about 'Bogey' (ex-cleethorpes pier & wintergarden plus many other venues regular) who had an apartment above the Peg and wasn't answering his mobile. He's okay, he's at one his relatives' house.

yes kev. local keep wandering round muttering words like 'insurance' and 'scam' but I have seen the plans for the upstairs. a top venue for over 300, I know the manager had ploughed a lot of effort and cash into it and delaying the opening (was gonna be june 2009) would have done him no good what so ever. we're a bit distraught because we were going to move upstairs to said venue, now we got nowt (for a while) but the peg isn't just a venue, it's an attitude to soul, a feeling and an atmosphere and we'll take ALL that to a temporary venue (when we find one) until the 'Peg' itself is back 'on line'. and as PD said, the important thing is no one was hurt (as far as I know) and Hobbo didn't leave his records there this time!!!
