  1. Barrie would have heard it at Accy Band Club (5 miles from Burnley) before it hit the big clubs. There is a good chance that Andy might have played it Mid Week at Burnley Rose Room, cause the odd time Ginger let him have a go behind the decks.
  2. Yes, he got it off Andy Riding!!!
  3. Ion, both Steve (Brad) Bradley and Barrie Waddington, where/are good mates of mine. You haven't said which record needs some light on it? Are you getting mixed up with another record the late Andy Riding played at the same time as The Chandlers ie. Carol & GerrI, he played O.Y.H.L.G. before H.C.I.E.F.A.W. was played at Wigan. Tim Brown can confirm this.
  4. Yeah Paul, I know, but I was just saying where I 1st remember hearing it.
  5. Andy Riding R.I.P. was the 1st with the Chandlers (early 76), he sold it to Pat Brady in late 76/early 77. Dickie got one not long after. The Ist time I heard Bobby Treetop out was at the Top Rank Handley in Nov 72. Not sure when Sandy Wynns was 1st played out,but I knew it and had it before Wigan opened. Reguards Dave.
  6. Sandy Wynns and Bobby Treetop way before Wigan.
  7. Sorry to tell you but The Chandlers was not Wigan.
  8. When Levine played this in 74, 100% deffo off LP. He even told me that Black Wax in London had it in limited stock, that's where I got it from at the time.
  9. If you want the orig, stick with the "Winter in America" L.P.
  10. Looking at what people are wearing it looks like late 70s and not the early days. Bernie would have been in is mid 20s by than and the guy in the glasses is only about 17 or 18. I still think that it is Toad (Tim Fletcher)
  11. 100% NOT Bernie Golding, since I;ve know Bernie for a very long time. Bernie never looked that young by the time Wigan opened, maybe at The Top Rank Preston late 72 / early 73 he might have done.
  12. Tim, I didn't even know you than, and I am sure that it is you, lol.
  13. Tony, now what is wrong with Don Varner? It's got a lovely label.
  14. No there where a few copies found (Blackpool/Bradford) from record stalls in the early 70s. Yes they would have been 10p each, but by the late 70s it was a big money record.
  15. It was by accident, I got my e-mail name and real name the wrong way round.
  16. Not sure when it was 1st played but I heard "So Sweet...." in the summer of 73, and it was the back end of 72 when I heard "Wait Till...." for the 1st time.
  17. Very cheap, when you think of some of the more common stuff goes for. For the record I have always liked both the Bobby Treetop records.
  18. What did it go for ? I have never seen a stock copy of this.
  19. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE DEL-LARKS, I think you are on the wrong website!!
  20. The bloody corn flakes record = shite.
  21. Ready to face the fireing squad for not remembering David Ruffin.
