Dj's Playlists -weekend 19/20 Nov 05
sitting finishing off at work, and checking out whats happening on here, I thought how about each Sunday or Monday if anyone has dj'd over the weekend there is some where for there playlists.. Not what they wish they had played or if they had they would have played, just a plain list.. So we can see whats getting played by Soul Source members when they are out and about.. If they have read on here of a record then played it out. For example I've played .... Deliver the love - Phylis hyman..... Out that was on one of the Cd swap things we done.. I'll start here now. West Farnborough club Hants. (sorry I did put this on another thread before I thought of doing this) Top of the stairs - Ashford & Simpson I only get this feeling - Chuck Jackson Giving it all to you - Cheryl Berdell Your song - the dells Cashing in - voices of east harlem Ready willing and able - Jimmy Holiday and Clydie King Our love will grow - the showmen Change my darkness into light - the flirtations I gotta let you go - Martha reeves Baby I'm coming home - Mack rice I'll love you till the cows come home - Clyde Mcphatter Comin down - Jackie Shane Say I do - Jackie Wilson & Linda Hopkins Try a little harder - the fi-dels The pain gets a little deeper - Darrow Fletcher Ain't no mountain high enough - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell Mischief 20/11/04

Another Moral Dilemma - Laptops
When we did the last Morden, we had problems with the venue, they forgot to put us in there diary so with a couple of phone calls and a lot of stress we found a pub that would have us after the Crystal palace match ended.. They had gear all set up but no decks.. we only had one with us (venue at morden had decks fitted in so we never needed our own, just a spare in case) anyway the landlord of the pub said we could use he's laptop as it had 5000 downloads in it (notice I never called them records as it would have to be a big laptop to fit all them in ) But even though it was there, and all you had to do was press a button.. all the dj's said they would rather talk between the records and use one deck and no cueing in - than use the laptop.

Keep The Faith
:diablo: I don't think it's passion, I think we are a bit odd. I went to dinner the other night, with people from work... Conversation went along the lines of (me) "blah blah blah you listern to chart music because the media tells you to...Blah Blah Blah. You have no idea of whats out there. Blah Blah Blah. I'll do you a cd so you can under stand real SOUL music.." 1 week later. "Paul that cd was good but it was just music why do you go on, and get so passionate about it?" How do you explain it's not just the music, it's the sound, the words, when the artist sang the ment it, they never sang to there bank manager they sang from there heart... and its special to own the orignal record, to look at the label, to check the vinyl... You all know you can go on here so is it a Passion or is it Odd? If I talked about trains, as much i'd be sad.. :Fck_off_by_nulltarget: (sitting at work listerning to ---TERRY COLLINS - I. L.O.V.E. What Was The Earliest Soul Record
I remember reading somewhere about "Wade in the water" coming from an old slave song.. can't remeber all the facts but have been looking on the internet and found this website.. The first link is about Wade in the water the second is about the history of Soul.. Now i'm not going to quote any of it but it's there to read and intresting as well.. But reason i've looked in to this is, if Wade in the water comes from an old slave song that must make it in the line up as one of the oldest soul songs!!!! https://www.localdial.com/users/jsyedu133/S...pages/coded.htm https://www.localdial.com/users/jsyedu133/S...gpages/the5.htm
