  5. Just thought I'd start a thread on the Northern tunes that have been played on TV programmes. I know a lot are used on ad's, but it's actual programmes, soaps etc. that I'm aiming at. My first memory was in the late 70s early 80s on Coronation street, one of the cast was in her bedroom (I think a Barlow relative) and she was playing 'Marvin Gaye - Little darling' while she was getting ready to go out. Any more examples?
  6. Can someone give me an idea of what I should be paying for a VG+ copy of this on 'Vent'? Thanks

  9. Think he's beyond that mate!
  10. Here is the only reference that I can find for the name, any scientists out there?
  11. Just checked on Google as you suggested and apparently no meaning? Not even as an acronym. Must have been something that Luthor or Richard made up. Top word though, should have a meaning really.
  12. For some strange reason, the title always reminds me of Space? Maybe because of 'Star Trek'? Dunno! I'd love to know that 'Exus' means though.
  13. Heheh!! Love your comments, and I agree with them all. Being into the scene from the late 60s, the instrumental was the first version I heard, and loved it then, and still do. I love the vocal version too, but was never as keen on it as the instrumental, but only because the instrumental was by the time the vocal showed it's face, already a classic and was known and loved by most. Both instrumental and vocal versions have an amazing feel and atmosphere about them and are both true Northern Soul records as they should be. But on to the version above, Yes Grant, you were partly right. This is a fusion of both versions, but not done on 'Cool aid'? Never heard of that one. It's just something I love doing in my spare time. I love to hear the conversations they spark off, they are always very interesting. Thanks for the comments good and bad. Steve
  14. Has anyone mentioned the following? Four Tops - To care (original version, not remixed) The Spinners - What more can a boy ask for Both album only tracks until remixed or booted.
  15. Michael Macdonald - God knows Kiki Dee - The day will come between........ Dana Valery - You don't know where your interest lies And Mickie Moonshine - name it you got it Oh and Bobby Paris - I walked away
  16. Has anyone got Ginger Taylors number please? Please PM me with if you have Thanks
  17. Ah cool Pete, was just on the phone to Paul Rowan, Jeez!! we spoke til' the credit ran out on HIS phone this time, over 2 hours. That fellah has some top stories. Telling me about when he went over to the states with 2 of his mates and they had been let into a warehouse above a bowling alley, that was crammed full of records. He found loads of 7s and an album that was all Jackie Wilson tracks with the same backing tracks, but a different singer, female, wouldn't tell me who the singer was though cos he's covered it up. Great guy and looking forward to seeing (and hearing) him on the 1st.

  19. Pete, sorry for my ignorance, but why does it say 'central No2' on the flyer, does that pertain to the building number??
