PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO THE BAD WEATHER & FREEZING TEMPERATURE THAT IS FORECAST FOR TONIGHT, WE HAVE RELUCTANTLY TAKEN THE DECISION TO CANCEL TONIGHT'S EVENT. GUTTED BUT THINK IT'S FOR THE BEST! 😭

 

 

Looking forward to another storming night of Northern stompers, Motown dancers, 60s club soul & up-tempo R&B, along with a sprinkling of rare & underplayed tunes thrown in for good measure. All aimed to keep the dancers happy & the floor busy - dig out those dancing shoes!

The Mead Hall is situated upstairs in the George Hotel - it has bags of character - a warm, welcoming atmosphere & a good-sized dance floor. It is very easy to find - just up the road from Cleckheaton bus station - & also has it's own private car park.

Drinks promos will be on offer on the night & there will be a menu available at the Mead Hall bar for food to order from the downstairs restaurant. 🍷🍻😋

Card payments are accepted at the bar, but cash only on the door please.

    We had a full house for our first event at The George in February with so much great feedback, both on the night & also afterwards! I just couldn't resist sharing some of it so here goes:-

    I’m taking some inspiration from some late great Peter Young Soul Cellar Capital Radio shows from the 80s that I found on Craig Hannington’s Mixcloud - awesome,  took me straight back to Sunday nights recording the shows on cassettes.. some tracks and PY favourites going into the box 🎶👍✊ you might recognise this one from the Quadrophenia sound track 🎯

    Looking Forward to Friday's soul night at the George- Northern Soul/ Motown has always been my favourite music, At the age of 19 years old I made a  member of Wigan Casino "the best years of my life"  started as a DJ in 1976 on the decks and still enjoy playing today, It's a privilege to join Soul Brew with Stuart, Marc and Carl.

    So sorry to disappoint everyone, but we have just taken the decision to cancel tonight's event due to the bad weather - tonight's forecast is for the temperature to drop to -7 in this area so the icy roads will be absolutely lethal! 😰

    Take care & hope you will be able to join Soul Brew at one of our future events!
