Cancelled Lea Hall Rugeley Allnighter

All-Nighter NOW CANCELLED

Hi,

You may be aware that I haven't been pushing Lea Hall recently. Well, that is because the venue has decided to stop the All-Nighters.

Lea Hall were unhappy with the large attendance. This is despite them having an excellent bar take. Nobody else made anything on what was Ted's Charity Celebration All-Nighter!

They have said I can only have it until 3am, which makes it into an extended Soulnight. As they insisted 6am was completely out of the question, I tried, as a compromise, to get a 4am finish, but even that wasn't acceptable.

I have spent the last few weeks trying to resolve things, to no avail. Accordingly I have now finally given up. I am not prepared to convert it into a Soulnight. It simply wouldn't work as they are relatively commonplace (no criticism intended), and not capable of attracting hardcore fans from all over the UK, like All-Nighters do.

I will run a couple of All-Dayers next year, but for now, Lea Hall as a Northern Soul venue has finished.

Apologies for the inconvenience. There will still be All-Nighters at TOTW, in November, and February.

Nobody is more disappointed than me. It seems we have been the victim of our own success.

Apologies again, I know many of you will also be disappointed 😔

At least we went out with a bang, remembering our great friend and DJ Ted Massey 🙏

PS. I am working on an alternative/ew All-Nighter venue, but it won't be arranged in time to replace the cancelled Lea Hall 'Niter.
