It definitely works, but they don't like you putting mp3's up on the site, they prefer you to use the refosoul feature

Hey you can't slag of Liquidator, it was The Wolves theme tune for over 30 years!

I know it's pretty scarce which doesn't make it good... There's one known copy of 'The Tickler' which isn't good either.

it's much harder to make a good list on ska/rocksteady because there are soooooo many great tunes... Reggae is easier because I don't like most of that organ overkill "skinhead" tunes. I'm mainly into '68, Derrick Harriott, George Murphy, Duke Reid and of course Coxsone productions.

Wild Sound Unlimited - I Know You

Montclairs - Unwanted Love

Soul is much harder for me, there are just too many tunes to pick (Northern or Modern, I like both). I'm listening Soul for something like 1.5 years or so but been into Motown etc. for some time now.

No need to take the piss just because he doesn't like it. Like 90% of British produced reggae, it's just crap compared to the real thing. Stand that next to something like Austin Faithful - I Am Losing You or The Tennors - Reggae Girl or Derrick Harriott - Been So Long etc etc

Well Glendevon Special is indeed rather Rocksteady than Reggae but it doesn't really matter to me... but Belly Lick, Reggae Girl or Been So Long????? You can't say Rocksteady as a genre can't be beaten by any Reggae tunes... There are hundreds of great tracks after 75(I know Pete doens't like anything after 71 or so ) which have the same power(Jr Gong, Nicodemus, Super Cat etc.etc.) as Ska/Rocksteady tunes.

Trevor & The Maytones boring? The A Side is great (Have you time) and imho the B side is even better. It has everything a good track needs: Plenty of bass, good rhythm and singing.

All of them are reggae - fast, early reggae - they're as different from rocksteady as rocksteady is to ska! But "It's Alright" is rocksteady.

You can not say they were untalented, otherwise they would had one hit after the other..just hear todays radio and you will hear all that untalented crap and i don´t think the times has changed since the 60´s in the music business

I doesn´t like the most output of that bands either, but in general is it not the worst basic to have no or less talent. without so called "un- or less talented" bands a rare or northern soul scene wouldn´t exist today and a skinhead reggae scene either.

the rudies "brixton rocket" on uk fab is a killer, fast organ driven instrumental. been recently sold on ebay for a uncredibely highest price!!!!!!!

Don't take me TOO seriously here, but I think the fine line between rocksteady to reggae should be defined by the exact date and time Lynn Taitt packed it up and moved to Canada!

Of course this will prove to very very historically inaccurate, as both styles were being recorded at the same time; I just like to marvel at the contributions made by Lynn Taitt to Jamaican popular music in the 60s and give him as much credit as possible...
