For those who like the way one piece of music leads to another, there is a nice (and large) article by Kevin Pearce on the 'irregular music publication' Your Heart Out, about working out what's behind one of his favourite old records.

The following link leads to the Your Heart Out front page. Then select their 'libary' (where it says 'download for free in our library') and download The Archeology of an Abandoned Soul Single as a PDF.

https://www.yrheartout.blogspot.com/

It's a long piece, very well written, dealing with all sorts of mad stuff: mod revivial, Kent records, even German disco. Well worth your time, i'd say.

I'd love to know what people make of it.

Happy reading.

Thank you for the link.

Partly unreadable, partly absorbing, off-beat, classic free-wheeling music journalism; some of it wouldn't be out of place in Melody Maker before it went down market in desperation after nobody bought it.

English irregulars, Wild Swans, Balzac, G K Chesterton, Edith Sitwell in a soul write-up indeed! Was there anybody not mentioned?

Great stuff. Good little blog as well.

Sweet.

Tony Rounce, Jo Wallace, me and the Cozenzas should all be blushing!

Blimey - nothing changes....me bossing people about and not liking guitar music :) And I remember doing it.... Tip top x
