I don't know if anyone has encountered problems when selling to Russian bidders on ebay.

I had a Frankie Crocker up for auction (blue 2nd issue) other week.Guy from Moscow wins it.Send off payment info get a very general reply back.Send another request off few days later no answer.

After 7 days open a dispute to get my final value credit returned.Case still open.

I then email him and ebay and tell them I'm relisting which I do.Blow me it finished last night and winning bidder was from Moscow.Different user name but similar address.Have sent off payment request but doubt I'll get a reply.

Can I block all bids from Russia?

I'd like to sell it to the second highest bidder but obviously I've got to wait for a week.

Anyone else had problems with these guys?

Its a bit of a faf about but you can block individual countries.

• Go to My eBay.
• Click the Account tab, and then click the Site Preferences link in the left navigation.
• In the Selling Preferences section, scroll to Postage preferences, and then click the Show link.
• Click Exclude postage locations from your listings.
• Select one or more continents to exclude all countries on those continents. Or select Show all countries and check the specific countries you don't want to post to.
• All excluded countries you selected will appear on the lower section of the page.
• You can select to apply these exclusions to all current live listings on a global level.
• Click the Apply button to save your requirements.

The requirements you select will be applied to your current and future listings and can be disabled at any time.

Exceptions
In some cases, your requirements won’t apply to current listings. You’ll need to revise the listing individually to enable your requirements if:

• You created the listing with a template that specified different buyer requirements.
  
  You revised a listing via Turbo Lister but didn’t sync the item with your settings in My eBay first.
  
  
• You want to create an exclusion list for countries you don't post to for a single listing.

Relisting your item

If you relist your item, it will use the buyer requirements you most recently specified.

I suspect, if they are getting invoices, you are now part of a Russian Mafia money laundering chain, probably not a lot of money for you personally but add that over a large portion of Ebay categories and itesms,it soon amounts up, especially when they "resell" them on, in their books only, for 100% or so mark up!!

Why blocking all bids from Russia? Just because of one non-paying winner?

I sold about 30-40 records on Ebay over the summer, two of them went to Russia. Both deals went ok even tho one of the buyers needed a gentle push via an Ebay unpaid item strike

At the same time I had three non-paying winners from England, all three went through the unpaid item process with fees eventually credited. Shall I block all UK bids now?

I don't really want to block all Russian bids.Just seems to be same person using different id's.

The winner 1st time hasn't even responded to Ebay.It just seems to be a pain in the ass when its a similar person/address and someone genuine wants it.

I can imagine having to deal with dickheads using different accounts can be a pain in the arse.

The way I do it:

Sending the invoice straight after auction ended.

No money 7 days after end of auction? Then Ebay unpaid item disute.

No money after another 7 days (i.e. 14 days after the auction ended)? Then I close the dispute (buyer gets an unpaid item remark which unfortunately only the folks at Ebay can see) and either get my fees credited, relist item or offer it to 2nd highest bidder, depending on item and finishing price.

I havnt encountered any fake bidders in russia yet, but when i sell reggae 45's on ebay i get a lot of fake bidders from mexico. i dont know why these people waist their time just to make my life miserable? and now i guess that people are doing it on soul records to..... it's getting ridiculous.
