Isaac Hayes On San American

I presume this is well known seeing as it's in JM's book (but not TB's book)

ISAAC HAYES - SWEET TEMPTATION / LAURA WE'RE ON OUR LAST GO ROUND - SAN AMERICAN 501.

I only bought it because something was nagging me in the back of my mind that it might be rare, but to be honest it's shit so here I am wondering if it's actually worth anything at all?

Also, when does it date from, and (daft question) is it THE Isaac Hayes and if so, how come he's on an unknown label?

It came out after "The Isaac Hayes Movement", Pete. Billboard reviewed it in December 1970. The label was based in Little Rock, if it doesn't say so on the 45. It was originally released on Brunswick 55258 in early 1964 and was recorded in late December 1963 (Oh, what a night...)

The B-side of it also came out on Memphis label Youngstown, sometime between the Brunswick and San American issues.

I did once have a copy but, as you say, it's crap and I outed it years ago.

I seem to remember that the label took out one of those little box ads that used to feature in Billboard, and that they advertised it with a contemporary pic of Ike.

Manship auctioned one within the last 18 months and achieved a high price, which suprised me as I also have a copy in my shite box.
