July 13, 201014 yr A friend of mind picked this 45 up recently and neither of us know anything about it. Any value help or additional information would be helpful? It's out of the Carolinas and was discovered by Jason Perlmutter some years back and comped on Jazzman Carolina Funk about 3 years ago. Value seems to have wide range... I'd say it's worth 400quid but it's got a lot of hype from some soulies who would say double that.
July 13, 201014 yr Gone for £1k recently Yeah but that's the hyped value, it wont be worth that in a year.
July 13, 201014 yr Hope you're right, i'd have one for £400 odd Edited July 13, 201014 yr by corbett80

No I'm not, that's what mine cost out of the states 3 weeks ago The price will fall within the soul scene where it's fetching the hype price because it's in fashion (like Leroy Clofer a few years back) and at the end of the day it's a funk record so it has a shelf life.

Hi Sam You have a knack of finding em for less ....maybe because you have some good contacts in the good ol' Us of A but that is not a true reflection of price is it:wicked: Think Paul's price is probably a fair reflection at this present moment ,but having said that i bet there are just as many of the Wally Coco's kicking about the states ,as there are Clay Brown's on the label . Time will tell eh?? p.s Will be at Manchester on the 30th so hopefully get to chat with you if your going to Stevie's do:wave:
July 20, 201014 yr Lets hope theres as many of the other Clay Browns as well. Or maybe a shock horror Prix like find of the label?! Stuff like Leroy Clofer and that James Munroe seem to have lost their value slightly now? Be interesting if the same happens to Wally C but it certainly appears to be a lot rarer at present....
