Can anyone recommend a good price guide book or label disographies either online or a book that I can use for Jamiacan Reggae, Ska etc on UK/Jamaican labels? I have used Tapirs which is good for Uk labels but I would also like to know of any others especially for Price guides. Any idea if Manships may plan a guide similar to their Rare Soul price guides for US and Uk? would be good to find one for Uk/Jamaican labels too.Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Paul

I hope they don't do a reggae price guide, you seen the prices they sell them for? Never has so much coffee been spluttered over a computer screen.

There aren't any current price guides, a guy from Macclesfield bought one out about 10 years back but obviously thats redundant now. You can't go by popsike either because 50% of the prices are bumped up by fake bidders.

There's a fantastic discography called Roots Knotty Roots, it's a database which you could buy on cd, contains both Jamaican and UK releases and you can search by artist/title/label/number/matrix. Not sure this is available in the shops anymore, it was expensive when it came out, you might find someone who'll sell a copy.
