According to Manship's price guide there are two issues on Bump Shop, i.e. one with record number 126 valued at £50 and one with record number 128 valued at £40.

But all the copies I have seen have been like the one below. It has 128 on the left side of the label, and then 126 at the bottom.

Is it an error in the guide or are there in fact two different issues on Bump Shop?

PS the picture is not so big, so it can be difficult to see the 128 written on the left. It says "GM 128-1".

Yes. But a later press.

Matrix marks for Bump Shop 45s usually start with GM, as the catalogue numbers.

Been told GM was first release and Bump Shop 2nd release. Always thought GM to be rarer, but seen people on the forum stating other way around. For what it's worth, popsike indicates GM to be rarer (38 Bump Shop sold and 23 GM). Seems tough to find in ex/mint condition!

Since no one has given the answer yet, I am just going to try one more time. Could it be a mistake in the price guide when it both lists "Bump Shop 126" and "Bump Shop 128" as Dee Edwards.

I have checked some old posts on the forum, and it seems that some people assume that there are two issues on Bump Shop. So I am wondering if they have actually seen both issues on Bump Shop, or if they believe so because they have read the price guide.

Not sure myself as I don't collect Bump Shop.

I have had a look through some scans on my laptop, Popsike etc. Could not find a copy listed as 128.

Just to be proved wrong I will stick my neck out then and say I think there is only one copy, credited as in the picture, with both 126 and 128 on the label

There are other releases sometimes credited twice for a similar reason - The Volumes on Karen is another great example of this.

Don't think myself that there is a 128 numbered copy on bumpshop,but if you look in top left hand corner of GM copy it says GM128,same as bumpshop,sorry if i have repeated anything, just seen other posts.

I always thought that the GM releases came first and then either became or was replaced by Bump Shop. The GM numbers can be very confusing and might have originally started out as plate or can reference numbers on the GM releases and then became release number for Bump Shop, as GM 128-1 is on both the GM and Bump Shop records.

There's more confusion when looking at the Final Decisions releases on Bump Shop/Love they all have a GM 162 prefix, but have different suffix's:

Pusher/Keep On Walking 162-1/162-2

Keep on Walking/Hour Of Your Need 162-AS

Pusher/I Feel what you Feel 162-4/162-5

If that didn't add to the confusion the Stix And Stoned release of Rouge Plant Blues has a GM 136-1 on the left hand side of the label. Some, but not all the pressings of this release have the number 131 underneath the artist name, which have been used as the release numbers on the GM discography. So you could say that the number underneath the artist is independent to the release number? Then you get the Turn Of The Century release of Money Cant which has a reference number of A-125-1M and the number 125 under the artist name, which seem to correspond. The Albert Jones release Up To The Sun has a number of GM 153, but under the artist name is the number 9441 on that and the Reflections side.

I think there's a lot of confusing information as to what the release numbers are and I'm of the opinion that there is only one release of the Dee Edwards on Bump Shop rather than two.
