Hi All ... Can anybody tell me anything about the unreleased PEOPLE 119 Barry Smith acetate, and was the B side ever issued? as the A side has PT 1 & PT 2 on the US release,

The PAGE ONE DEMO is a classic and sounds great to my (I love UK Northern) ears, it take a couple of plays to turn it from a run of the mill 6ts POP record to find a brilliant Norther Record with CLASS, anyone (cant do sound clips) DAVE KIL

I remember Searling appealing for a copy of Barry Smith on his Radio Hallam show in the early eighties, he also mentioned that it was on UK Madagascar. Been looking ever since to no avail, I guess your pre release copy is the nearest it came to a full release.

I'm sure Sean Hampsey/ John Benson will know more details.

This has same A and B as your UK issue Dave

Unable to add anything re the UK release of Barry Smith.

However as I'm sure you know, it came out stateside on Shane 1301 which was a blue label.

Look out for the much better female version by P.J.Smith also on Shane this time on a yellow label S-100.

Hi All ...cheers for input info, I have also another Barry Smith in a yellow label SHANE a dreadful version of Tom Jones Hit "it's not unusual", now i have seen a US copy it takes the edge of the DISK, but if you collect the island & sue label from start to finish along with the unreleased stuff, if it exists it will be in this format and not a white label, for some reason i have never got round to completing the full PEOPLE label, they put out some nice LPs and like Con-tempo the 12" and LPs are hard to get now,

Some records are just so elusive to the completest, this is a good example, as to it's value. i ain't got a clue as I say this is a completest record that just has the right sound for to-days taste, perhaps Ranking Johnny may want it to auction it for me??
