I made the rookie error this week of buying "A Little Piece Of Leather" on seven off ebay, but buying the wrong version. I had no idea there's more than one version.

What I wanted was the classic 60s northern footstomper. What I got was a funky version on London, from 1972.

So which label should I be looking out for for the version I'm after?

Both versions were released on London, so I can understand the mistake.

Were they? I thought only the remake was on London, the original was reissued on a cream coloured label called (?) Klik.

...That's quite right, Jerry.

The Klik label contains primarily reggae. I think their release of LPOL is the one with the added reverb that was originally issued on an LP on the US ALA label in 1972, and on an Ember album maybe that same year or the following one.

The All Platinum/London release of LPOL was recorded in the UK, BTW...

I was sure it was the 60s version on the London issue I had years ago (don't have it now) I don't think i've ever heard the funkier version.

I'm probably mistaken though...

No Problem, I have added Sound files from Refosoul, guessing this is the one that you have

Yes, that's the one I've got. And the first one is the one I want...doh!
