Do any copies of this play without distortion? I have had so many on US Smash & they all distort. Have I just been unlucky? Is there a vinyl pressing from somewhere which plays clear? The one on NZ Philips sounds like it was recorded off the US 45 as it played in another room.

I've got a UK Philips copy which I played out at Go Go Children last week - sounded fine to me!

Should have said UK Mercury, sorry - I think my brain was on holiday!

nothin wrong with your brain there is 2 uk 45's [issues] 1969 Mercury MF 1109 + 1965 philips BF 1432

The Aussie Phillips 45 plays fine Kris !

Trust me to be the odd man out, I've got this and I only play the "I washed my hands in muddy water" side, never even played "Mohair Sam" I don't think

didn't Jerry Lee Lewis do one or both of those tracks?

I can't choose which side I prefer, strong 2 sider.

Will keep an eye out for a UK, Aus or US promo (apparantly they are vinyl).
