West Coast Soulstars - Because Of You / Soul Redemption

Released on Andy Davis UK Street Soul Label on a 45 (Sept 2011). Was building a huge demand and following, but once released,(UK only), now little heard of, during October or November 2011. Has this excellent synth and strings edit, which stay's so comfortably sound wise on a 45, been a victim of it's earlier acceptance.

There is many other pocketed divisions within our musical scene that this record can be "seated" rather comfortable within.

Hello. Also picked this up as soon as it came out and reminds me of some good danceable soulful releases back in early 90's...Driza / The Affair / Watergates etc. Personally think I prefer the previous release (Show me Love) but could be an interestin band to follow for sure.

Have heard both out only the once (empty room at the time, sadly!) & have played both out in recent months to warm some kit up here and there, but still searching for a good local(ish) night which plays bits like these and more like 'em. Any thoughts?

Hi Moldie (again! lol)...Yeah I had heard that and would like to give it a go sometime, although near 200 mile round trip for me not the most attractive attribute of said night! You love driving up and down the country. I don't! :D

Joking apart it's a great 45 most of the stuff Andy put's out is really good He mentioned the other day that there's something intresting in the pipeline so watch out for the next one regards Simon.

As the topic has moved on to the label! lol... Me too and I remember the C&C from their LP a good few years ago, so was well pleased when it finally got the 45 release. Monique Thomas sure has a lovely voice and what a great record that is hey?! More like those please, and look forward to further releases from Street Soul and others. Steve :thumbsup:

Played it last time at NFNF but I think you had left in order to be somewhere else that night if my memory serves me right, but hey why not I'll spin it again.

Before its release on a 45 I used to play it off the Unbroken album at the modern gigs after friend of mine put me onto it.
