I think so Bob, the black magic label issued a load of tailor made ( and other dodgy) stuff in the mid 70s to cash in on the Northern scene at its height.

the clue for me (besides it being a UK only thing) was the specific pounding northern beat that definitely would not be used in music of that era (e.g. disco).

i have , "well i told you" ( chantels) on carlton , worth anything ? , love the male vocal on this , reminds me of Ray Charles
