Always wondered about the obscure label MJR Records, which the only release I have, is the utterly brilliant : Patience Valentine - Our Love (A special Blending).
Anyhow was playing The Worlds Funkiest Band - When your alone yesterday and noticed some additional text on the flip side which was very interesting. Says, Produced by Richards, Jefferson, McCarthy, for MJR . We Know Jefferson is Joey Jefferson the producer and label owner (Breakthrough), I think he may have even sang, but don't quote me. Anyhow his 7ts release of the Inspirations, that pink release it says Dist by California Gold Ind also, so that ties those two.
This is the only ever mention of MJR I have ever seen, anybody cast any light on this anybody ever see another release on MJR Records? Sadly this kind of thunderbolt gets me very excited these days...I may need to get a life..
