Apologies if this topic has been covered before, but i'm sure i'm not the only person who sometimes hears a record and it can sound anything from ok to brilliant, and other times the same record sounds diabolical!! Two records that i can think of instantly are Tony Middleton Paris Blues (featured recently in a "most over rated records") debate, and the other, i cannot think of the artist but its on Pzazz, called That was Yesterday. Do other people have this problem?

Willie Tee - Sweet Thing. On its day its superb and ohh so soulful and then again I can think I don't even like 'funk'. Depends what other records it gets mixed in with I think.

is it just me ,or do some records when played in the comfort of your own house sound so so but the same record can be heard in all nighter environment and they take on a whole new life and sound great
