I believe that's just how Lou Courtney and Robert Bateman billed themselves as producers on the record.
I've noticed on some Lou Courtney tracks on Riverside that it says Produced by The Funk Brothers. I've not noticed them being credited as producers on other stuff especially on motown tracks. Is this the same funk brothers that
were the motown musicians or is it just a generic name the producers gave themselves. Riverside label appears to be a New York label. I expect RobbK will know
