"Two local DJs, Keith Minshull and Colin Curtis, approached me and asked if I wanted to have a Northern Soul night. They were very influential in bringing Northern Soul to Stoke-on-Trent. We put on our first Northern Soul all-nighter, tickets were 50p and the place was packed. I thought, 'this is all right'. It went on for nearly two years.

I went back to Hose street for the 1st time in about 30+ years and was quite surprised to see all the houses around the place, didn't really notice it at the time  I believe Dave Rivers still has the original newspaper article about the court case and close of the Torch in 1973.
