Hi Steve, you're right: Beatin' Rhythm has moved to new premises:- Bank Studios, Warwick Street, (opposite the Istanbul resturant), Prestwich.  The new telephone number is 0161 773 1589.

Hi Larry,

They have moved to premises in Bury somewhere and now only sell via the internet. Think they have been there over 6 months now.

John.

Hi John

thanks for that...got a shock yesterday ...popped along for the Jack Ashford CD.....and there it was gone!

had to spend my money in the knocking shop on the next block.....only joking :)

its a shame to see when quality record shops close, but it makes sense online only, no big overhead's .

Hasn't it moved to Prestwich. Bury new road or something, open a few days a week or on request to pick thing's up. Sure something was on here about it. Probably wrong again.

Hi Steve,

you're right:

Great shame really, but understandable. Was the best record store in the city centre and a 'must visit destination'. Britain is a hard place to operate any business on the High Street with extortionate rents and taxes etc. Let's hope the on-line venture prospers.

Was in Manchester on Friday, and armed with the knowledge re BR, tried FOPP.

Staff member had no idea what Ace/Kent was.

They didn't seem to stock any Kent CDs at all......although they had loads of Japanese Atlantic albums on re-issue for £5...Otis, Wilson Pickett, Clarence Carter, Aretha , Sweet Inspirations etc...not bad

and some cheap NS comps too..
